Two hours until the madness starts

How did everyone like the cards mold chips?
We’ve been playing with them for several months. Out of our group, I am pretty certain I like them the least. Out of the box, they feel great and have considerable grippiness. But that starts to wears off as soon as they get shuffled. Now the set has a few spinners and is too slippery for my liking.

That said, they are a decent value and they look nice. I donated these to the Tuesday game host, and they work out fine for that game. They just aren’t my thing. I’m too much of a chip snob.

I hear ya. My custom cards mold are tournament chips, so will probably never get super high usage. My cash sets are all clay or china clay except for my Aria's set that hasn't hit the felt yet. I host mostly cash games.

Do you think the slippery-ness is caused by wear, or dirt and oils? Have you considered cleaning them to see what that does? I realize you've donated them so don't own them any more. But I'd be curious if a dunk in an ultrasonic would return them back to feeling "like new."

I wonder if @SeanGecko has noticed this same issue since he has some he's been playing with for close to two years now.

I've had my cash set for over two years now, and only used them less than a dozen games from what I recall as I mostly play in other games. Like @wonderpuddle says, they grip well when they're first used but they do get slippery after a couple of games. I compared my first batch of chips to the add-on cash chips I received not too long ago and you can tell the surface of the older chips have smooth down in texture. Funny each after being smooth down some the faces of the inlay appear sharper than when you first see them being a bit blurry.

Although I regularly play with local chippers with their Paulsons and CPC's, my cards molds in their current condition still don't bother me. I played with cheap chips for as long as I played poker so them being slippery doesn't bother me as much as chips not stacking well, which CM's actually do. And like I said before, I'm more of a player than a chipper, and I can never afford to get anything above these especially since I hardly throw games often.

Oof, tonight was not my night in tourney, I was getting dealt and flopped monsters with no callers and then getting riveted when I did get calls. Just missed the bubble.

Last time with the 4D14 set before the CPCs get into play. Also a little Spanish birthday cake action…
