Sad to see my son's high school lacrosse career come to an end, but glad to be able to make it to @ChaosRock's EO Wednesday league again.

I recommend a @ChaosRock gin & tonic for maximum chip stack growth.

A little story from last night's game.

Hero did exceptionally well in the early months after joining the group last May. Colton, the host's son, would pop in once or twice during the evening to see his dad and to scope out the game, measuring who had the largest stack. Later in the summer, Dave let Hero know he felt a little irritated that his son Colton would ask him at breakfast each morning after hosting: "How much did Mojo win last night?"

Over the fall, the game moved to another players second home that he converted into a clubhouse, freeing up Dave's garage.

Last week, Dave's son called during the game. Colt ended the conversation by asking his dad "How is Mojo doing?' His father replied: "He is doing good." (Hero was up about $400.)

Hero does the best he can to downplay Colton's weekly inquiries. That evening, Hero's five week win streak came to an end when he finished down $450. Trying to build upon the camaraderie at last night's game, Hero jokingly pointed out to Dave how everything went south after his son called last week.

Dave immediately picked up his phone, reading out loud as he typed: "Colt, please call me later tonight." An hour later, Colton calls. Dave answers the phone, talks about soccer practice, then stands up, turns the speaker on and asks his son if he wanted to know how Mojo is doing. His son asked the question, to which Dave said "He is holding his own." Hero stands up and motions to Dave to bring the phone closer. "I appreciate having someone in my corner Colt. You are going to get 20% of whatever I win tonight."

At the time Hero was up a couple hundred bucks. He remained stuck there most of the evening, then slid backwards, adding on for another hundred to bring his stack closer to par with a couple of other players. Still up around a buck twenty towards the end of the session, Hero wins a three way all-in to cash out up $1100.

The two bills on the left are for Dave. While waiting to get cashed out to give him the remaining twenty, Hero asks him for his son's cell number. Picture below.
