Official Home Game Pics Thread! (102 Viewers)

One of my favorite home game aspects.. we often do a food drive (for a chip bonus) to our local food pantry. My crew always comes through with lots of food to donate!

Love this.

Considering adding this to the October tournament (gotta be a charity out there accepting Halloween candy donations) and/or the November tournament.

I give 500 chip bonus for every non perishable food item brought (to a maximum of 5 items). So max bonus of 2500, plus I also do a 500 chip, on time, bonus, which makes the bonuses 3k total. I give a cash option, for those unable to bring food. I allow people to substitute $2 for every food item (the food pantry accepts cash obv). So if they want the max bonus, they can buy it for $10.

My starting stacks vary between 10-12k, which brings the tourney starting stacks to 13-15k. Last night, we ran 20 players from 7pm to just before midnight. 5hours. Ran a tad longer than normal, but we started with 15k in chips.

Here were the starting stacks... I just build the bonuses into the stacks now. I used to run around and give them out just before starting, but most everyone is on time, and everyone contributes to the food drive. Now, for the occasional late player, I just remove the 500 chip from the stack if they're late. Much simpler.

I really like this idea... Amounts to a late penalty, but not a huge deal. Especially if everyone knows it. I might adopt this idea next year.

Never noticed the chain betting line before. Nice, subtle implementation!

So, I am still relatively new here, and posted these pics in the pr0n thread. These from this past Saturday. 27 runners, 3 Kem decks, 3 Modiano decks. WSOP Horseshoe tribute chips. Made final table, but went bust in 9th.

If there were a thread for "Best Poker Room Set-up", this would be a competitor. Nice room!
Thanks! We still have to decorate, but wife and I are quite proud of it.

EDIT: my bad, you were talking about the REALLY stout room.

Switching to the Links_Strong capper to help me bring it home.
...and to no avail. Rough night. Increased my stack early by about 20-30% on trip Jacks, but either missed flops or was caught in bad spots for much of the rest of the night. Was also in an awkward spot when it came to rebuying - I either had to rebuy to gain about 3500 chips, or stand pat where I was and allow others to rebuy from zero to have more chips than me. I figured paying another entry fee for less than half of my original starting stack wasn't a good buy so I passed. Then it was play mistakes combined with dreadful hands for the rest of the night. BUT - I was playing poker, so (y). Good food, good booze, good crowd.

That's where having the "free add-on for unused re-buy chips" rule really makes sense. A player should not be at an advantage merely due to not re-buying, imo.

How did you finish last night?

-80 in the tourney

+75 In the cash.

I'll take it.
I ended up winning tournament after a 60 40 cash chop with Terry in my favor. We both had a ton of chips and it was 130 am. It felt like we would play til 4 so we decided to go all in and run one hand blind. I ended up with a better flush.

Way to go Mike!!!!

Congrats. Guess you should have done the secondary prize pool :)

It was nice to finally meet you Scott, hope you can play again, Thanks for coming, it was a tough night, and I bubbled....
If you fought your way back to the bubble, I'd count that as a partial win. No money, true, but you pick up league points and for a while it looked like that would be a tough challenge. Did the AZ poker championship guy end up winning? He looked pretty dominant from behind his wall of chips when I left.

Yes I had a couple really good hands, including quad aces.... No David (az poker championship) came in third, lost a few big hands and when they got three handed they were pretty much equal stacks.
