I’ve seen pictures of the bottles before…does that count?Looks like $80. That said I have NEVER seen an Old Forester BS (bourbon or rye) ever hit Oregon...
My pictures?I’ve seen pictures of the bottles before…does that count?
Never seen one in NC either.
Very well could have been lolMy pictures?
I got super lucky. @Pinkdan knew that I was looking for it. A friend of his in Colorado found it. I traded a Stagg Jr and cash for it. Top 3 bottle for me, with the others being George T Stagg 2018 and EHT Barrel Proof.
Bourbon Barrel Not a Group Buy
This is a thread for the possibility of buying a private selected single barrel of bourbon from New Riff.
What started out as a joke led to me contacting the distillery about their barrel selection program. I found out that New Riff is a little different and you can purchase 1/4 or 1/2 a barrel rather than a whole barrel making the possibility economically feasible.

Inquiring more about taxes the response I received was
6% KY Sales Tax and 2.5% City of Newport Alcohol Tax
All said and done for a 1/4 barrel (60 bottles) this works out to a total of $3,252 or $54.20/bottle. These numbers are all approximations at this point.
Standard shelf pricing for New Riff Single barrel (at least where I live) is 52.99

The bottles would be from a single barrel aged at least 4 years that we select and would be hand bottled. New Riff uses a high rye mash bill

Up to 8 people can be present for the barrel selection process. Once the selection is made it takes approximately 30 days to bottle and the bottle will be marked with the barrel information as well as a customized label.
There is a side label for a logo and the tasting notes and an etching on the back of the bottle.
I am setting up a call next week to verify information and ask further questions. Let me know if you have any specific questions that I should ask.
The question I present here is can we get a 60 bottle commitment to move this forward. Otherwise it isn't worth pursuing.
Tagging those I think are interested, feel free to quote and tag others to this post

BBNAGB update
We are at 56 bottles.
I have a meeting setup with New Riff on Thursday, so I should have answers to any questions.
We don't have a final price yet but they should come in around $55/bottleSorry I haven’t been following.
How much is a bottle? And how many do we need

the literature states a 1/4 barrel is 60 bottles so that's what we are shooting for.
not taking money yet until we verify everything with the distillery. I am meeting with them Thursday, But that gets us our 60!Okay I’ll take 4 bottles
Who do I pay
On the nose I get citrus and ginger bread.A weirdly, wonderful pour!
Top 3 all time rye for my money! I still have one more unopened bottle of that particular batch marinating in the back of my cabinet!
It’s scary, isn’t it! It’ll sneak up on your ass if you’re not carefulI would never guess this to be around 130 proof
maybe @Indyscammer or @BlueChipSpecial would be willing to give up dib on a bottle or 2 since they have the most. That's what I get for not reading this thread over the weekend.
I'll take backup on 2 bottles of the New Riff if needed.
That’s steep for the Toasted Barrel…I think I paid $55 for mine. Your price for Rare Breed is $7-8 less than what I now can get it for.Interesting hunt today. My good store has jacked up prices now, so it’s not so good anymore.

He did have Discovery #7 in stock, though $20 above msrp at $150. I need to think HARD about that.
And we got a local delivery at all the stores of Rare Breed regular. I have a backup or two, so not in the market, but $45 + 7% tax for this I'll buy it all day long. When I'm running low that is.

Prepare for rare breed price to go up soon too (my guess). It might go allocated in most stores too the way things are goingInteresting hunt today. My good store has jacked up prices now, so it’s not so good anymore.

I’ve seen rare breed go from 45 to 50 and now to 53 in less than 6 months here in NC. The local store manager I am tight with all but confirmed without specifically saying that it will be allocated sometime later this year. Sad timesPrepare for rare breed price to go up soon too (my guess). It might go allocated in most stores too the way things are going
jumped from $40 to $50 here. I have a 1/2 bottle and an unopened backup right now.I’ve seen rare breed go from 45 to 50 and now to 53 in less than 6 months here in NC. Would be happy to drop down to 6 bottles to give @Schmendr1ck a chance to join in the fun.maybe @Indyscammer or @BlueChipSpecial would be willing to give up dib on a bottle or 2 since they have the most.
If not maybe someone else. If no one else does I'll give up a bottle. I have 1 reserved for a co worker, I could let 1 more go if need be.
I can give 1 up.BBNAGB update
