I really enjoyed my bottle of that. Took a little time to come around after opening it, but it turned into a really good pour! I’m glad you ended up liking it because I remember you not being real sure about it when you first opened it. Cheers!
I offered to GIVE my Chipco Palace Casino cash set to a friend who just started to host. He currently uses non-denominated World Tavern Poker chips for a cash game. When he said his were 14g official casino weight and mine were too light, I gave up.Regardless of the bourbon being drank here a crime is being committed by playing with those chips.

Worst part is that it's my fault. I bought the chips years ago as a sample for a super cheap tourney set to donate to my group.Regardless of the bourbon being drank here a crime is being committed by playing with those chips.
Mine turns 18 on Tuesday! I still remember the day she was born like it was yesterday. Cheers my friend!! Having a celebratory pour for you and yours…My daughter just turned 21 yesterday, so tomorrow we are heading to ocean city MD a few days then up the coast to atlantic city. I'll look around for some store picks out of state.

I had a sample of batch 2 and my bottle is batch 3. I think batch 2 was better, batch 3 drinks hotter and a little more oaky and a lot of pepper, batch 2 to me was more minty.I think all of mine are Batch 3. I thought it was good whiskey. But I do not have older batches for comparison.
aint nothing wrong with a good Jameson. Don't let the taters get you down ;-)So, y'all drink way above my pay-grade as a relative simpleton to the whisky game and as a civil servant whose paycheck is tied to research grants, but just came home from a get-together with some friends who recently returned from Ireland and provided these two to the rotation:

I'd had the original Crested before, and the prospect of the collaboration was interesting but all five of us decided unanimously that the original was the better of the pair. Much smoother with better caramel notes despite the Devil's Ladder barrels providing the more complex nose that didn't translate to the palate.
Has anyone tried batch 3 (63.7%) Alberta Premium Cask Strength? Yes, I have 5 of them (well currently 6 @Saoliver ) but I have not tried it yet. Still working on a 66% batch 2. Any thoughts? Anyone compare the 2 yet??
Mine is batch 3. That is all I've ever seen around here. Love the Alberta! You might not like it compared to your batch 2 but that stuff is the shiznay to me! Prices here coming down too. Saw it yesterday for $70. The Bottle I have was closer to $90.Has anyone tried batch 3 (63.7%) Alberta Premium Cask Strength? Ok sure why not....
Alberta batch 2 66.0%
Nose- Oaky up front but sweet with notes of vanilla and a bit of darker fruit.
Palate - tons of gritty spice and barrel notes and proof up front, but fades to reveal sweeter notes of honey, vanilla and dark red grapes. Super long finish that continues to dry out and chew forever.
Alberta batch 3 63.7
Nose - the sweet vanilla and currant notes are more up front in this batch, not as oaky or charred, lighter.
Palate - not quite as proofy, much more black currant forward at first. Sweet vanilla and caramel notes wander in and out. Oaky barrel char and rye spice then lingers and dries out on the finish. Not quite as long and spice forward as batch 2, but IMHO more pleasant...
Similar flavors in both batches, but I found they hit you in differnet ways and at different times, and the balances are different. The slightly lower proof on batch 3 works, I give this new batch an edge over batch 2. Its comes across slightly sweeter, a more bourbony profile that I really enjoyed.
My 2 cents, YMMV.
$120.How much would you guys pay for a weller full proof store pick?
