John J. Single Barrel$40 for the single barrel or for the small batch? It’s a steal if it’s the single barrel! And yes, I completely agree that it’s better than Blantons!

I randomly poured my bottle tonight! There was a show, TNT Bull I think, I liked it, but it didn't even make it one season. At any rate, there was a character, and when he went on a bad streak, he would reverse his mojo by consuming things he thought were disgusting, until his luck turned. I think he downed trays of goose liver pate in the episode I watched. But his luck turned, as fortune would have it. No more pate.
Whiskey hasn't tasted right to me since I got the Rona in June. I'm on a bad streak. (In more ways than one, but those are mostly resolved) So I've decided to force myself to drink it regularly anyway, starting with bottles I'll never buy again. I want my mojo back. It's going to happen. So I'm diving into my whiskey shelf #1, which contains only 2 or 3 bottles I would buy again. (The WHOLE shelf can't suck, so I put some MM 101, some Lost Monarch, some OF 1920 on there).

Tonight, I bring you MM Cask Strength 2020.

Why do I hate thee MM CS 2020? Because I was fortunate enough to find some MM CS 2015. Three 375mL bottles. And they absolutely demolish the 2020. Not even a contest. It's a behind-the-woodshed beating. But it is a wheated cask strength whiskey, there aren't a lot of those. So it's tolerable and definitely not a drain pour. Here's to some MM CS 2020 helping me get my mojo back.
Their barrel proof is decent but probably not worth the $50 price tag. I brought it to the BBNAGB tasting to share. I think consensus was drinkable yet unremarkable.
I think I would like the rum finish. But for $62, I need some reviews I trust first, and I've found zero.Their barrel proof is decent but probably not worth the $50 price tag. I brought it to the BBNAGB tasting to share. I think consensus was drinkable yet unremarkable.
Big Red liquors here has 6 bottles in ALL of Indiana under raffle. Russell's SB store picks are maybe my favorite all time bourbon. The 13 is probably all world good. Would love to taste it. Don't expect to ever have it.I keep looking for you fellas, because I've still got 2/3 of a bottle of RR13, so if I get a "backup" I'm happy to pass it along, but there is not a peep of RR13 at any of my local stores. It's in Indiana, I've seen it posted in some Indiana bourbon groups for a couple weeks now.
sagamore is doing great stuff.
Glad they made it safe and sound!!@Billy Baroo - you are the man! Thanks for the assist on these little big guys. I can’t wait to try them out

never heard of itOne of my coworkers got these today. He’s a bourbon nerd. He says the juice is Heaven Hill but some kind of special bottling. I’ll beg him for a taste one day lol

Looks like something I could re-create with some empty bottles, cheap whiskey, wax, a lighter, and some parchment. Which means it's probably the best whiskey ever in there.never heard of it
Mmmmm raspberries
