Better late than never! First pour has been absolutely fantastic. Nose is interesting: lots of super sweets: honey, vanilla, and cherry coke - or maybe Dr Pepper, complementing all the oak. Palate is similar, intense sweet burst up front - seriously: like dark cherry Dr Pepper on crack, with the drier, darker oak in the background, then becoming more and more prevalent as it sits and dries out. Proofy in a very good way. Surprisingly, not a super long finish. But crazy good, curious to see how this does after being open for a few weeks.
I thought C922 was better.

I did a flight with both EC and Larceny A123 and thought the Larceny was much better.

Recent purchases.

I loved the Pikesville so much, I had to buy a backup for my backup (especially at $45 out the door). The other two are sub-$50 and I think worth trying. When I get around to offering/trading samples, they can certainly be on the list.

What is the difference between these? Really anything?

Select is an actual pick. Much better usually at the same price especially.

The "select" is simply a store pick. No difference in the whiskey really though many believe the store picks to be superior to the generic single barrels but I think that all depends on the palate of the person doing the picking....

fun experiment...buy them both and do a taste test. ;)
I've never seen both types at the same liquor store, usually one or the other.
