Well MU benefits from a offside that was written by 'lawyers' trying to remove any judgement. Running after the ball and having it within playing distance a split second before the shot is interfering with play/defenders. If Rashford never chases the ball, no issues with the goal, but he kept himself involved in the play.

I remember back in 94 when I think it was Romario for Brazil was clearly offside (around the outside of the center circle), had his hand up and barely even glanced at the ball while a teammate ran onto the ball and scored. That's how it was intended imo.

I hear you and don't think you're wrong.

Here's a controversial opinion. The game needs to do away with offsides entirely. If attacking teams want to goal hang and poach, let them, and make defending teams adjust. This will open up a lot more space in the middle third of the field and make the game more exciting and high scoring. I think the modern game has been ruined by the offsides rules and VAR.

If Rashford can have the brains and awareness to realize he was offside, and subsequently get out of the way, then the defenders and goalie should too. He didn't touch the ball, or an opponent, he was not obstructing the view of the goalkeeper. It was the right call.

And yes, I am wildly biased on this

Nope. You would be getting rid of the art of defending. Don’t Americanise the game. Next thing you’ll be making it into 4 x 15 minute quarters and introducing a shot clock :ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

My thoughts exactly. It was an extremely smart play from Rashford; the defenders just switched off when he was switched on.
 
New football finance report out today from DeLoitte showing that 15 of the top 30 wealthiest clubs play in the EPL.

Last place EPL gets somewhere around £120 million. Last year Celtic got £3 million for winning our league.
