Okku's Historical Casino Videos & Random Fun Stuff (4 Viewers)

Today I quickly talk about my recent trip to San Diego with Aili and our daughter. We decided that it was time for a family trip as both of us needed a vacation badly and thought that San Diego was the perfect place to go together! We checked out Sea World, the Zoo, La Jolla, Old Town, Belmont Park and so much more! I had an absolute blast with them and I really didn't want it to end.

This time we talk about something that I generally didn't want to talk about, but decided that it needed to be as there were other people in the community also putting their input into it. Recently there have been updates being put onto the ChipGuide about certain casino chips being considered as a "hoard alert" because they are being used in home poker games. Meaning that there's a possibility that someone might have a few racks of something or even a barrel of a more rare chip. That's all a possibility, but it also depends on what chip it is and how rare it was to begin with. I know that quite a few of the chips being posted as hoard alerts are close people to me and they are just as confused at everyone else as to why these updates are being made. Hope you enjoy!

Forgot to show this at the beginning of the week, but we were busy setting up with Copag's booth at the World Series of Poker. We've been working with them for years now at work and helping them out at the WSOP selling setups, used cards and more. Tons of fun all the time. I personally worked at the booth I believe 2 years ago and have stopped by plenty of times when it was at the Rio and last year. We are there every single day of the week I believe from 10am-10pm, we have our crew working there while the rest of the crew is at the office doing our usual work stuff.

Here are some pictures that I took when we were done setting up our booth on Monday, I believe it was! This is only one room....

I saw this in two threads now. Can someone give me an "explain it like I'm 5" rundown?
The contents of the video is very well described by Okku's post. Then it seems that someone-who-shall-not-be-named really didn't like it and went crying to MomTube with the usual stupid nonsense copyright infringement claims on stuff they don't own copyright for. Is my take.

So I thought about the thread thing and what you guys said, maybe this will work. I can post my videos in this thread so that way they are all in one place and post updates about cool things that I find or get! Hopefully you guys have enjoyed all the videos I've been making and there's no stopping as of right now. This week is Christmas so I hope you guys have been staying safe and healthy as we approach it.

Today's video is about the Vegas World, a place that I don't think many people know about but it is seen as a Vegas landmark in my eyes. It was Stupak's dream to have his own casino and he was a well known gambler which helped bring some of the biggest players to the Vegas World. As many of you know the Tournament chips from the 1980s are awesome and I even found photos of Stupak, Ungar and Chan playing with them. Enjoy the video and let me know what you thought about it! Thanks again for all the support guys, it truly means a lot!

Man those were some wild times

Can you dispute the copyright claim?
Yes but its a slow process, and YouTube takes a 'if theres smoke theres fire approach' due to the massive number of videos uploaded and reported. These alleged infringements really hurts algorithm and channel growth.

Can you dispute the copyright claim?
Yes, but as @LeGold says it takes some time.

I've received a number of emails from the individual over the last few days that I haven't been able to get to or read so looks like they had to take that extra step to get what they wanted to s how what they are talking about. Thankfully if they get 2 more copyright strikes on my channel then it means all of Oscar's videos go bye bye! The whole channel would be gone. 3 strikes and you're out deal ;)

I'd love to see that happen... All of my hard work over the years gone.

All the more reason to get the chip guide cca people to come to their senses. Are they all out of their mind, or is it just one guy who doesn’t know how to play nice?

WTH is CCA claiming was a copyright violation?
I think the video showed screenshots of Chipguide? Probably falls under fair use or whatever, but as others have pointed out YouTube is eager to yank videos first and ask questions later.

This is the exact reason ChipGuide came after me...

Yeah, the DMCA pretty much requires YouTube to pull it and make you challenge. I think showing images of TCG in a video and commenting on the images is almost certainly fair use. I’d challenge it. I think YouTube has two weeks to decide. I’d also think about consulting a copyright lawyer and letting TCG know that if they try this again, you’ll sue. I believe the law requires TCG to consider whether your use is fair use before demanding a DMCA takedown. In fact, if you want to go that route, I might be able to help you find some free legal representation.

Gosh... this is so petty that I'm out of words...

Sorry @Okku for derailing the thread...

I don't know whether or not it is "fair use" but I would at least challenge it. What do you have to lose?

From my days in print journalism, i recall that media lawyers would allow us to reproduce images from other publications under fair use, as long as the context was clear, and it wasn’t a straight copy—that is, we needed to add something beyond just showing the image.

For example, we could show a picture of the cover of a competing magazine, or a headline from a newspaper, as long as the source was obvious (i.e. not cropping out the name of the publication) and we commented on it substantively, rather than just copying it.

So one could write: “Sources close to Janet Jackson say she is upset with US Magazine for using an unflattering photo of her on their April cover,” and illustrate it with an image of the April US Mag cover in question.

As long as it was used for discussion purposes, and we were not just copying others’ content wholesale without adding anything new of our own, it was covered by fair use.
