Okku's Historical Casino Videos & Random Fun Stuff (1 Viewer)

Jesus, it's been a while....

This years CCA haul isn't has huge as it usually is, but I didn't really see much that I wanted to grab. I was able to grab this stuff though so it wasn't completely a dud! It was a fun year, with lots of new people, younger people and much more!

I had the opportunity to go on one of the newest podcasts to do with the hobby, "The Side Bet Podcast", hosted by Rene Contreras. Every week or two he tries to get someone that has something to do with the casino collectibles/history hobby and talk about what they're into, what they do, what they've done and Vegas history, along with a bunch of other topics that he might have in mind.

This time we talked about the hobby, chip collecting, the CCA convention, Vegas' future and a few other things! If you'd like to check it out, you can find it at the link below. Make sure to follow him and let him know that I sent you!

Back to making videos! First week of this month I went to San Diego for vacation, I quickly talk about that trip, what we did and how it went! Hope you guys have been doing well!

Welcome back! Today we talk about some new 43mm chips in the collection just to name a few, Ambassador Plaza. Caesars Tahoe, Grand Victoria and Isle Pompano Park! I've recently heavily gotten into these oversized chips because of their looks, but they just feel so much nicer to me than some standard 39mm chips. Hope you enjoy!

Today we talk about this TRK chip, the most interesting TRK chip ever that I've seen. Luckily I do have two of these chips and it's one that I looked for for a long long time. This chip is from the Desert Sands Casino that was located in Cabazon, CA. It's one of the only quarter-pie hot stamp TRK chips or chips in general that I've seen. I was luckily gifted/traded both of these chips from two good friends in the hobby and they're part of my Desert Sands TRK set. Hope you enjoy!

Love that chip! Need that chip myself. I think that is the only chip i have seen with that spot pattern (similar to Paulson's 1/4 pie). Most 1/4 pies are actual 1/4's like the following:

Today I quickly introduce myself for those of you who don't know who I am. I'm Oscar, a 25 year old, recent college graduate living in Las Vegas. I'm really into collecting older casino chips, casino history, trading stock options, crypto, learning about history, graphic design and media and a whole lot more. I have a beautiful fiancée and little one who are my world and I've got a dog and cat. You'll definitely see more of them in the coming videos! Hope you enjoy!

Today we talk about my G2E Expo experience here in Las Vegas. It was my first time going to this show and it was absoluetely amazing. There were a ton of things that I haven't seen before, people I've never gotten to meet and tons of connections to be made. I was able to talk with a few companies that I deal with quite a bit and ones that I'd love to do more work with in the future if possible. The main things that I was primarily looking for were custom plastic playing cards, plastic chips, ceramic chips, casino chairs, poker chairs and a few other things. Hope you enjoy!

Today we go hunting for vintage casino collectibles at the Charleston Antique Mall here in Las Vegas. This is an antique mall that I've been to a few times now, the last time was 2 years ago, and I was able to find some goodies today! I also had Aili and Lilah come with me which made it more fun. I think they also enjoyed going, minus Lilah being scared of the older masks and Halloween stuff. I found 2 Dunes $1000 chips, some cool older coasters with chips on them. Aili found some things and so did Lilah! Overall it was so much fun and I'm sure you'll see us going all together more in the future! Hope you enjoy!

Today we quickly visit the site of the demolished Tropicana Casino in Las Vegas. This casino stood here for 67 years, one of the key icons of the Las Vegas strip and one that was home to many. It started it's days with the mob, slowly grew out of it and became a hot spot for entertainment with acts like Folies Bergere, Legends in Concert, tons of comedy and more. Hope you enjoy!

Today we talk about why Bellagio 1st Edition $10 and $20 chips are so rare, so unique and so hard to find in MINT condition. There's a few reasons why, we go over them in the video and talk about what they've been selling for over the past few years. You don't see many of them in this condition so I suggest you watch this one! Hope you enjoy!

Today we talk about the unique world of the new hybrid ceramic custom poker chips that have been popping up over the past year or so. The ways that you can customize them, the different types of ceramic molds that are being made, the different types of labels that are available, price points and so much more. If you're looking for an economical poker chip set, this video is worth watching for you! I love them and I know that you would too! Hope you enjoy!

Went live this morning with Rene Contreras on YouTube talking about the La Rue Casino that was open in Las Vegas during the 1950s! We talked a bit of history, chips, differences between mega resorts/earlier clubs and then some convention stuff as well! You can find the livestream at this link below! Hope you enjoy!

Today we talk about being on the Side Bet podcast recently with Rene Contreras. We talked about the La Rue casino, some history about it and then some things about the recent/upcoming conventions here in Las Vegas with our chip collection/casino collectibles hobby. We've got quite a few newer shows coming recently and it's awesome to see that. I also talked about my recent video, you guys seemed to like it quite a bit. Plus, talking about the chip designs that I've done for myself and others online. I'm also home alone without Aili and Lilah.... it's SO LONELY! Hope you enjoy!

Today I show you guys my typical 5-9 after my 9-5 although this one is missing my girls. This is what I do or have done this week without them. It's generally a pretty easy routine, it's not that complicated and it's very much so what I enjoy doing. I did some dishes, ate dinner, fed Taffy and Maisy, then got to designing some custom ceramic chips, charting stocks, going over the plays I'm currently in and a few other things! Hope you enjoy!

Today we talk about my visit to Charleston Antique Mall and Ronnie's booth again! This time I found some amazing original Flamingo and Dunes casino restaurant menus from the early 1940s/1950s. Something I've never seen before and they're in amazing condition considering they're age. You can see the original prices, the original graphics and see the difference of just how "high class" the Flamingo was back then when it first opened up.

Big thanks to Ronnie again for showing me everything, opening the cases to show everyone and just being awesome!
His contact information is here: 702-285-9042 / montero4u@aol.com

Also big thanks to Charleston Antique Mall for being some inviting, awesome, friendly and amazing! I greatly appreciate you and I'm not going to stop coming back!

Today we talk about the unfortunate news about CPC or Classic Poker Chips talking about closing business. This news came about last week when, David Spragg, posted on CPC's website and PCF that it's time to move forward from CPC. They'll be accepting orders until April 27th 2025 and there will be a price increase this January. They also announced that they'll be running the Ewing mold that hasn't been ran before for home custom orders. This mold has exclusively been only for casinos for the past 40ish years and now would be the time to get a custom chip set on that mold if it's something you'd like. You can find more information below from David and they're website. Hope you enjoy!

Today we talk about the NEW 102" poker table that we have at @Spinettis Gaming. This table is probably one of the nicest, if not, the nicest poker table that we've ever had available. It features an interchangeable dealer position with multiple different options, shuffler cutout in the table top if needed, raised rail, LED lighting, USB chargers, nice wood pedestal legs with a cabinet for electronics and so much more! Along with that, we do a quick table tour around the store showing you what's available for sale at the moment because things have changed since the last time you've probably seen anything! Hope you enjoy!

Today we talk about this INSANE chip that just sold on eBay yesterday for $7900! This chip is from the Flamingo Hilton Casino that was located in Las Vegas from 1970 until 2000. I've seen the $1s and a few $5s, possibly one or two of the $25s, but never seen one of the $100s until this past week. This Flamingo Hilton $100 chip is in very nice shape considering it's age, almost 50 years old and it looks amazing! The started bid on this chip last week when it was listed was $1,950 and it went well beyond that almost hitting $8000! Let's talk about it, see what you think and I hope you enjoy!

Today we quickly talk about F1 coming to Las Vegas next week! It's going to be an exciting event, something that happened last year, but this is will hopefully be better. We talk about the commemorative chips and if they will have any this year, some thoughts about old F1, my memories of watching it as a young kid and more! Hope you enjoy!

Today we talk about the simple little things about enjoying your own hobby that you are into. For me, it's casino chips, vintage casino chips. I've gotten to learn a LOT about this hobby in the last 7 years and it's been amazing. Sure, I didn't start collecting like most. I got to be under the wing of Mike Spinetti for about 6 months before I started actually working for Spinettis Gaming Supplies, but afterwards I've gotten to learn an insane amount of history and knowledge about older casino chips. Ultimately I want everyone to be in a hobby that they enjoy for what they want. Don't let others tell you how to enjoy the hobby that you want to enjoy for yourself! Hope you enjoy!

Watched till the end! Who's a good boay?

Today we talk about the differences between Cap Dash Hybrid Ceramic chips. and TR King Co Small Crown chips. The Cap Dash hybrid ceramics were made in tribute to the TRK SmCrown chips. With chip prices getting more and more expensive, especially with these original TRKs, it's harder to build these sets that everyone wants. For example, original Tropicana, Nevada Lodge, Pick Hobson Riverside, Primadonna, New China Club etc etc. You just can't find those chips in quantity or if you do, they are very expensive to build a set. With the Cap Dash ceramics, you have the opportunity to enjoy that similar feel of TRK chips at just a fraction of the cost. You can also create any artwork you'd like, make them the way you want and enjoy them with friends and family. You can ONLY find them at PokerChipper.com and we talk similarities and differences in this video! Hope you enjoy!

You can ONLY find them at PokerChipper.com
Hm, what do you mean? As far as I'm aware of, you can get them from Justin too. Or directly from Tina.

And if you too are using Tina, you should put a huge disclaimer that any design people submit will be made freely available to the whole world by the manufacturer adding it to their stock.

From my understanding you can only get cap dash ceramics via PokerChipper. I’m aware you can get other versions from Tina or Justin.

I’ve noticed that a design I’ve made is on her website.
