If you like such kind of fanboy jokes, look after the TD 5491 action figure, there are plenty of good laughs such as Carrie Poppins, Alderaan, Wampa arm, 2 half Darth Maul.. etc and no doubt that "the force" is the a best seller.

Being a star wars fanboy from the age of 10, I used to get all upset about these things but finally came to the realisation that it’s only entertainment. I find the films, old and new, entertaining and that’s all that I expect from them so never leave disappointed.

Exactly!

I love Star Wars. However, people are so devoted to what their personal idea of, or what Star Wars means to them that anything that contradicts that idea is sacrilege. They then internalize those feelings and damn the whole movie or trilogy as bad because it doesn't align with what they or others that think like them think it should be.

The movies tell a good story and are entertaining... if you allow them to be.

I mostly fall into ^this^ category. The original is still my favorite (yes even more than empire, which is the better movie), and even though the Force Awakens was essentially a remake, I enjoyed that one too, I thought they did a great job of passing on the torch to the new characters. The Last Jedi fell with a thud/splat for me, it's the only star wars movie where I actually checked my watch for the time, and I left the theater asking "what the hell did I just watch?"

I dunno, this new trailer didn't excite me too much, even with the throwbacks like Lando, Luke/Han's medal and the emperor.

That being said I definitely plan on seeing it.

That’s the grip that these films have on us. They can make a film as bad as The Last Jedi safe in the knowledge that we’ll still all queue up for the sequel. It would be great if this final part pulled all 9 movies together and gave it a fitting ending but that’s more hope than expectation...
