Paymaster - Custom GOCC cash set (2 Viewers)

Nearly there on the chips. If anyone has any more suggestions the faces are almost ready to roll.

Curious - will the rolling edges have spots to match the racing stripes on the faces?

Also, since we're ideally looking at concentric circles here, is the manufacturer (GOCC, yes?) going to be doing anything special to make sure these are as centered as possible?

I don't know that centering is too big a concern. The Nine Dragons had a ring around the outside and they were all centered pretty much perfectly.

I am going to do a prototype run on the .50 frac.

You are in line with my thinking for the rolling edges. I don't have mocks from J5 yet but my thought was to have retro starbursts on the rolling edge in the complementary racing stripe colors. (Orange/red for the .25, grey/blue for the $1, etc.)

Gonna be gorgeous. Bring them to Louisville, we'll get them in play, then drag race to see who keeps 'em.

I'm liking the starburst rolling edge idea. Would have to see them to be sure tho. You thinking variable patterns or same?

Also dropping this here.

I'm thinking all the best stuff on this set happened when I told J5 my ideas and gave him freedom. I told him "what about a retro starburst?" and now await what he puts together. [emoji2]

I'm thinking about losing the "Dealer" text on the front entirely but getting the chrome Paymaster font in there. Thoughts?

Also the stars on the rolling edge were not what I hoped for. Anyone have any brilliant ideas for it?

I'm thinking for the rolling edge maybe simplifying is a better idea?

For instance maybe just doing the denomination eight times around the rolling edge in alternating "racing stripe" colors?

For instance on the $5 it would be eight alternating black and yellow $5s. All the black $5s would be orientated one way and all the yellow $5s would be upside down relative to the black $5s so there is no real up to the rolling edges?

To my eyes the racing stripes are barely visible on the faces (which isn't necessarily a bad thing...just saying that they are subdued). I like the idea of alternating denoms on the edge, but if it were my money I would go four denoms and four sets of bars/stripes so that the racing stripe colors are more prevalent on the chips as a whole.

So you are saying for instance on the rolling edge have a yellow and black racing stripe, then a black $5, then the same racing stripes, then a yellow $5?

Any thoughts of keeping the word "Dealer", but doing it in the chrome paymaster font?

I like Paymaster in its font on db, with "Dealer" on rolling edge.

No denom on chip edges would be my vote.

Almost there!

Rolling edge and DB. I appreciate opinions on the rolling edge. I think I know which way I am leaning right now. Also have some plans for the DB rolling edge but J5 hasn't mocked it yet.

I like 2nd rolling edge from the top, just remove the denoms. ;)

And can't we get the starter girl in a pony tail, or is that giving the Ford too much edge? :whistling:
That was one of the two I was leaning towards (with maybe the bottom one being the other.)

Wait!!! Didn't you tell me to lose the pony tail!

The more I think about denoms on the rolling edge, the more I think that it can be done well - I like how the Royal Yaks look - but many times something gets lost. Either there's lost definition or clashing/blending colors or something just isn't right about them. You're working with John & he'll have a good idea of what works & doesn't, but I say all this simply to point out that I'm not sure the denoms are truly needed.

With that said, I'd lean towards 2 or 5 with or without the denoms.

If I remove the denoms and did option 2 I would have him make the orientation the same on all the racing stripes. No reason to alternate it if the denoms are gone.

John and I have had some conversations on what will and won't reproduce. I am going to prototype the .50 which is the most detailed chip in the bunch but overall I am feeling pretty good.
