DTT Sobremesa Brulee this afternoon. Probably my favorite Connecticut stick.

They always burn perfectly, too. Great construction on these!

Looks great! I have one of the DM chests and have been very happy with it. I just run bovedas in it so can't speak for the humidifier, but the box is beautiful and seals well. Hope yours works well for you!
Thanks, it is already up to my preferred humidity and running well. I used Boveda packs and a small sake shot glass with humidity beads in it in my old one and it worked very well. I’m going to give DM’s humidifier a shot and see how it works.

Side note: as I was transferring all of my stuff into the new humidor, I saw one of the humidity beads had gotten squashed on the lip of the lid on the old one, which is why it wasn’t shutting tightly…Doh!

So now I have two good humidors…lol.

If it's a typical humidifier that you add distilled water to I'd not use it. Nor would I use beads. I wouldn't use any device that you need to hydrate unless Boveda packs are too costly for you

have you had the blues? they are my favorite way to start a cool morning with a cup of coffee
Yes! I really like the blues, as well. They are on my list of Connecticut sticks that must always be present in my humidor, along with the regular brulees as well as Oliva Connecticut Reserves.

Why? Curious about your reasoning on this...
First of all nothing is better than Boveda packs. They add AND subtract humidity to maintain a consistent level. A typical humidifier using distilled water can drip on your cigars, increase too much humidity or dry out providing not enough. They contain the green styrofaom florists use for flower arrangements and they're subject to getting moldy and brittle. I tried the beads and was not too happy with how long they would retain their moisture before needing to soak up more water. Boveda packs are maintenance free, pose absolutely zero threat to your cigars and last about 4 months.

You can also recharge your Boveda if you're one of those frugal save everywhere I can type of guys.

Shot glass and boveda to season it?

Agree. I had a nylon bag of the beads that were supposedly 62% for one of my tupperadors. Meh. Boveda for life.

I use beads. Bought a lb of 65% 10 years ago from heartfelt for my long term storage and never had to change them. I add a bit of water every 6 months or so. The beads have yellowed but they still keep the humidity between 62 and 65% all year round.

I didn’t like the powder/residue left behind by mine.
