PCF Fantasy Football 2023 (Salary Cap Draft + Super Flex position) (3 Viewers)

This is the way.
Used to love it when the fantasy season was 13 wks long, in a 14 team-league each squad faced off against every other team exactly once. No BS or crying about how u had to play a Juggernaut twice, which happens in 10 or 12 teamer's scheduling. NFL expanded the regular season so we have 14 fantasy wks now & there's 1 rematch, but it's been okay so far.

Ur always welcome to hop on board @ChipFinderSK, if we have a spot open in this league.

No worries, ur good @Mandos. I tell all GMs to always read over the scoring & settings, and I appreciate that u actually reviewed our league settings and brought that issue up.

I was trying to penalize the pick-6 category just a lil bit more this season, but I totally forgot about Yahoo stacking Int + Pick 6. I certainly agree that -5 is too much penalty, thanks again for catching my air-head math error.
I’m still in too many leagues as it is; trying to shed 1-2, not join more.

I am interested in SF though, so

You can put me down as a backup, and if no one takes the last spot I’ll fill the seat

@12thMan, @7deuce, @FilthyMcNasty

Just checking in to see if y'all will be returning this season. Pls try to confirm by Sunday 8/13, after that I'll open the last remaining spots to other interested forum members.
Thanks to all who have already confirmed. Do not hesitate to ask if u have any questions about Super Flex, Salary Cap (auction) Draft, FAB waiver budget, etc.

The League roster has been finalized. The weekly schedule is also now set, the only pre-determined matchup is the Week 1 rematch of last year's Super Bowl participants (Scoreboard Breakers & Cleat Check).
The remainder of the schedule was randomized using Yahoo's RNG.

If this is your first time doing a Salary Cap draft, I would strongly urge you to do a few mock drafts just so u are aware of how to nominate & bid on players.
We also have a SuperFlex (QB,WR,RB,TE) position which allows u to start another QB, but there is NO Rule that says U must start a QB in that spot.

I will send out a reminder about week before the draft for league fees. No rush on payment, however in fairness to all please pay your $50 entry fee by the draft date.
The Draft is about 3 weeks away and is set for:
Wednesday, Sept 6 @ 6:30 PM Pacific Time (9:30 PM Eastern)

$50 entry. Top 3 paid.
1st - $400
2nd - $200
3rd - $100

I have a fantasy football PLEA!!!

PLEASE HELP!!

I am in a local league against my buddies, who all watch football. I know NOTHING about football. I literally only know TWO things about football, and neither are relevant to my upcoming draft:

1) Seahawks did a pretty smart thing by unloading Russell Wilson when they did. Sorry not sorry, Broncos. :)
2) Earl Thomas smells good. haha. He stood in line with me one day a few years ago to get into a Seattle Storm game. And he wore a very nice cologne.

That's it, the extent of my football knowledge. You can see that I need some help!

I've been playing fantasy baseball for nearly 3 decades, so I am super familiar with preparing draft sheets, looking for sleepers, etc. But my go-to baseball sources are BASEBALL sources....I need to know where to find good draft rankings for football. Don't come at me with ESPN. Blah.

My plea....please tell me, what's a good source for a good reliable ranking for fantasy football? Who's your go to for fantasy football info (Razzball is my baseball source....love them, and trust their rankings for baseball).

PLEASE HELP!!

edit: Oh, I know one more thing. DK Metcalf is pretty cool. He sat next to me at a Storm game a couple years ago too. Good arm for the t-shirt toss.

PM me if you are willing to help, but don't want everyone else to know your source. :)

I like the fantasy footballers. They have a podcast that’s pretty funny - it’s just 3 friends sitting around a studio talking football, but they’re funny and pretty football savvy. I think they win awards for their podcast every year. And their website has rankings that are slightly customizable to your league’s scoring. Check them out:

Aside from twitter, I think NBCsports (formerly Rotoworld) does a pretty decent job with timely injury updates. I don't pay for expert fantasy advice so I just rely on whatever free resources are available.

@ChipFinderSK, @Mondaynight, or anybody else new to Salary Cap (auction) Drafts:

Getting pumped for fantasy football season! I have 5 drafts in 7 days, starting next week, feeling a little overwhelmed

Just wanted to share, in the league I manage, I found a new way to determine draft order that everyone got a kick out of. Paid $75 for a Mike Golic cameo, sent him all the team names, and a few fun facts for each manager, and had him randomly pick the draft order

https://www.cameo.com/recipient/64d...hare_sheet=1&utm_campaign=video_share_to_copy

Pretty funny, and I like that it gives everyone some time to strategize based on their place, instead of the ESPN default of randomizing 1 hour before draft time.

Warning: some of the team names are NSFW

That was a pretty cool way to determine the draft order @Pinesol13 but did u have any luck trying to convince any of your other leagues to switch to auction?

man, I'm really anxious for this league's draft. Also for a $50 league, I think folks will find it to be surprisingly competitive.

Unfortunately not. The league I manage, everyone seems pretty stuck in their ways, and the other three I don't have the influence

One is a startup dynasty league, which I feel totally unprepared for

Now collecting $50 league buyin. In fairness to all members, please pay by the Draft day. Check your PM for payment options.
Much appreciated & Thank U to those who already sent in your fee early.

We got one more week left to prep and mock guys, reminder the Live Salary Cap draft is on Wed, September 6 @ 6:30 PM Pacific Time (9:30 PM Eastern).

Yes, I’m sure there are plenty of 14-team superflex mock auctions.
Ahhh no wonder people would just leave the mock draft once I picked 2 QBs, i was like what is up with these a**holes... :ROFLMAO:

They may not be superflex leagues @upNdown but technically Yahoo does offer 14-team mock draft rooms. Whether you mock or decide to just show up and draft is completely up to each manager.

Here’s a funny story. I had the draft for my regular 12-teamer last night. I took my secret weapon Brock Purdy in the 12th round. Only QB I drafted.
After the draft my buddy says you really like Brock Purdy? I said hell yeah I’ve got him as a top 10 QB. He said how the hell do you have him in the top ten?
As I was flipping through my spreadsheet, I said he only started a few games last year, but he did pretty good in those games.

Then I burst out laughing - on my QB
spreadsheet, I saw that I had Brock Purdy down for 49 passing touchdowns.
Obviously a clerical error on my part, but it’s kinda hilarious that I just assumed I’d outsmarted the entire rest of the fantasy world, without double-checking my numbers.

Don't feel too bad, my friend drafted Henry Ruggs in our Dynasty league last week. I'm sure he'll dominate the league in 4-7 years when Ruggs gets out of prison

My plan was to spend 60% of my budget on mahomes and Hebert and then wait a while and hope for the best.
I ended up spending 62% of my budget on Mahomes and Allen, waiting a while, and I think it ended up okay. we will see.

This auction crap is maddening. Everybody overpays for the studs. And then they keep overpaying for the next tier of players and for the next tier of players. So yeah, you can save your money by not overpaying for the top level guys. But if you wait too long, refusing to overpay for quality producers, you end up too much money to spend on players so mediocre that you don’t have enough talent to win.
So at some point you have to jump in and overpay for talent. It’s fascinating.

I actually had a budget in place for each position. What I didn’t realize was that you have to have at least $1 left over for bench spots, defense, and kicker. I was moving right along perfectly, and when I went to get my 2nd RB, I realized that I couldn’t spend what I wanted to! Live and learn I guess. However, I’m stuck with Brian Robinson as my 2nd RB which was an accident cause I wanted to target someone else. Whatevs. Lol

Can't believe you got Mahomes AND Allen!

I got stuck with Jonathan Taylor when I didn't want him, got stuck trying up the bid on everyone  :ROFLMAO:

Auction is crazy fun, and stressful

Yoooooooooooo…this Ceedee Lamb trade is crazy!!!! No offense to anyone.
Yeah it’s really bad. Way too much to give up for a crap QB. But since I’m not willing to trade away any of my QBs, I can’t really bitch too loudly.
