PCF's Favorite $.50 Casino Chip - Nominations Please (3 Viewers)

Came here to say exactly this. Shuffles . . .

I like Riverside. They stopped using those chips the year before Jim @ chiproom started his business. Darn shame that their primary and secondary sets probably just got thrown away.

I’d pick the Bicycle Club 50c if it came to the two hot stamp chips
More pop
Both are great though
Meh, the Bike's hot-stamp is run-of-the-mill dime-a-dozen. What sets the Shuffles apart is that some actual thought went into the stamp design.

It's too bad they have no sense of currency.

I suppose as a half-penny, it really doesn't qualify for this contest. @FDLmold ?
I make exceptions for misplaced decimal points in the .25 and .50 categories. None of them have a chance of winning anyway, and it is a fun discussion point whenever .25c and .50c comes up. If you were a dick enough in one of those casinos, you could insist on a rack of chips and local gaming laws might force them to give you one, or round your frac chip up to a $5 to make you go away.

... I’ve never used a snapper in a game, and most likely never will, but I’ll sure as heck look at a snapper poll to see the best of the best.
Just come to a casino during a Barge week and play in a pink chip game! You might have numerous racks of them in front of you...

The picture of the face on the chip guide sucks but I can take a better pic of the face tonight
I guess I have to second this nomination. I was liking the posts that suggested that 50 cent chips were irrelevent or whatever. But this picture reminds me that I once owned a bunch of these - maybe more than a rack? I don't think I ever planned on using them, but the price was right and they were cool. So there you go. I guess if I have something good to say about half-dollars, it is that there seem to be a lot more inlaid half dollars than quarters. I've always been happy using hot stamp quarters. But if inlaid half dollars are more common, maybe I should be playing .50/.50 instead of .25/.50? Hmm

Some of us have absolutely no use for 50-cent chips. I've sold all the racks I once had, and don't miss them a bit...
Agreed. It’s a worthless denom. Get quarters and put more in play. I’ll never off .50/$1 anyway. Just one small blind chip on the table? Silly.

$0.50 is not a useless denom - but it's close

I think playing .50/1 NL or PL with a set of 50c/$2/$10/$50 chips would be unique and awesome, but nobody does that.
