Pens: you can use them for writing things down (1 Viewer)

What you write with says a lot about what you do for a living.

Spend more time writing with these than anything else:

Lol, this thread has it all.

Pen equivalents of TRKs, Paulsons, BCCs, dice chip pens, plastics (high- and low-end), pen wanna-be's, oversized, even a frickin' murder post.

I love this place. :D

When I started nerding out about pens I kinda had the same feeling when getting into chips. Its going down a rabbit hole where you get to learn a bunch of new stuff and also try out many different things and find out what you like. There is the mixture of style and function which is fun. And there is the whole tactile experience of what it feels like in your hand and what it feels like to write.

Some pens have the most satisfying clicker mechanism or click in place sound/feel when putting on the cap.

Caran D'Arche 849 & Fixpencils, Kaweco Special BP & FP, and Tactile Turn side clicks with mostly Monteverde gel inks. Ohto's too.

I have my clerks special order these for me. They literally come from Japan (via Amazon).

You all showcasing these without "spring clips" are killing me. They have to be retractable, spring clip and write ✍️ excellent, of course opinions vary but these are my favorites in 0.5mm.

edit: the "American" versions are, I believe, biodegradable ink or "eco friendly" or something and write terribly .

I love the Sarasa clips, those and uni-ball signo dx's are great.
For a ballpoint, I use a jetstream as well. Never could get myself into using a fountain pen

Same because I switched to a whiteboard desk for the quick note taking while in conference calls. Usually a G2 for other tasks in the go and a rollerball or fountain pen- usually the Lamy Safari for writing while at my home desk

TiScribe - Goat edc pen. Takes any Parker refill use the G2 adapter for pilot ink. The cost causes me to make sure I don’t lose it.

I have tried all sorts of pens and have yet to meet one that writes better than this. US government contracting at its finest.

But of course, during my suit-wearing consulting days, I wrote with this, because it looks goooood. :ROFLMAO:

27 years ago, in the early days of webzines, I wrote an article reviewing cheap disposable pens. The site (Suck.com) is long gone, but amazingly the piece is archived at the Wayback Machine:

https://web.archive.org/web/20020221094128/http://www.suck.com/zerobaud/96/05/09/

The Uniball Vision and Pilot Varsity (both relatively new at the time) were top picks. Cheap disposables have come a long way since… This commission also gave me a chance to express my hatred of felt pens.

Funny story about the writing of the piece: I went to a Midtown Manhattan stationery store (remember stationary stores?) and bought one each of about 30 different cheap pens.

The cashier was not too pleased about having to ring up 30 different items. After about the 10th one, she yelled, ALL RIGHT, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE???!!!?

I just read the OP for the first time. 0.7 mm? Enjoy your crayon. That's not a pen. :D
