PGI Ceramics vs. Game On Ceramics (2 Viewers)

I have samples of most of these. Sunfly chips are near the bottom of my list of favourite chips, as I just don't like the feel. That includes the Lucid Diamonds. Keep in mind that I like the feel of Chipco/GOCC chips the most.

Now you might love Sunfly. You might not. I would suggest getting a sample set first.

And as mentioned above, I believe GOCC focuses on business to business sales. Retail sales to the masses doesn't appear to be their niche. I'm grateful they are here. I just need our dollar to improve...

I picked up some chips from GOCC back when they had their big clearance sale. Erica was great to deal with and the product, in my opinion, is the best out there as far as ceramics go. I've got some sunflys i'm currently trying to move and they just feel inferior in every way. Not a fan at all. Hopefully, like @CdnBeerLover says, the dollar bounces back at some point. Just ordered some Rounders chips and had to pay a 30% premium because of it. Great if I'm selling...not so great if I'm buying.

this thread starts out by comparing PGI vs. GOCC, and then adds in CPC (using Sun-Fly), Old West Poker Supplies, and ABC...

but no mention of Sidepot (buypokerchips.com)... any thoughts on them? i really like their website (although I don't think they're a sponsor here). i have samples of their stock ceramics in both the Venerati and more expensive Archetype... they have custom samples available and seem to have a good custom process... this vendor seems to have one of the better customer facing websites but doesn't seem to get a lot of exposure on this forum... just curious as to why and what the thoughts are on their custom ceramics compared to the others in this thread...

Sidepot offered two different ceramic chips -- Archetype (produced by Chipco) and the lower-cost Venerati (suspected to be Sun-Fly but might be Chinese-manufactured, given the very low price). Stephan is a great guy, but with three of his main chip sources no longer available (Chipco, BCC, Paulson), his recent business efforts have gone in other non-chip directions.

Most ceramic vendors use Sun-Fly blanks -- this includes PGI, OWPS, BRPro, and CPC. At one time, PGI also offered chips produced on Chipco blanks. GOCC and ABC/Nevada Jacks use their own proprietary ceramic blanks. There is at least one other low-cost Chinese ceramic blank (fragile with more rounded edges and prone to breakage), which is used for a few budget chip lines such as Nile Club, Scrolls, etc. It is also rumored that GPI may be introducing a new ceramic chip for casino use.

Beyond the sound and feel characteristics of different ceramic blanks, the print quality and customer service can vary from one vendor to another. Always get samples before you buy, and getting proofs made prior to production (if offered) is also a good idea.

Does PGI still offer the Chipco-like matte blanks? I'm currently deciding between those and GOCC, but if they sold their Chipco stuff, I think GOCC is the way to go.

I like their chips as well. The Archetype chips are some of the best I've sampled. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear they do any custom options on these; as far as design it's "what you see is what you get." If there were any custom options on the design I think they'd be an insta-buy for me.
