The Key West Resort & Casino cordially invites you to play
LIVE $2 BLACKJACK
The contest:
In March, we'll select four players -- one each week -- to play a hand of live $2 blackjack at one of our Key West blackjack tables, and we'll put up their $2 bets.
How to enter:
To enter, post the words "Entered!"only once each week in this contest thread. Post only once. Second or subsequent posts during the same week will disqualify you in this contest. If you post in one week and are not selected to play, you can post again in later weeks. The "week" will start at noon on Sunday and end on Friday evening at 8 p.m.
You don't need to buy anything to enter for a chance to be selected to play. You will not put up your bet, and won't be wagering anything of value in this promotion. Whether you receive a prize will depend on the outcome of the game you play.
Selecting players:
Each Friday evening at 9 p.m., we'll select a player using the random number generator to pick a post from the week. That member will be notified via PM, and invited to play on Saturday night at 9 p.m. EDT (live), or some other time convenient to the player that weekend. If the player is not available to play the hand Saturday night, we'll arrange a time to play and record the hand as it happens.
If you are picked to play:
If your post is selected for that week, you've essentially won a live $2 chip to use in the game. The chip must be used to play in the game. If you can play live, we'll show the table live on Facebook. We'll use standard casino blackjack rules, standing on all 17s. You can communicate your player's decisions with us via phone or text, which will be arranged before you play, and you'll get to watch the game live as it is dealt and make your player decisions in real time. We'll do a house shuffle of a four-deck shoe as part of the hand.
Playing live online:
To see your hand live online during play, you can download a free Zoom app to your phone, tablet or desktop. You don't need to "sign up." We start a "meeting," and PM you a meeting number and password. When it's time to play, you click "join meeting," enter the numbers and you'll see the table live on your device. Here's a link to their free download page:

The issue is that Facebook Live can have a delay of up to 20 seconds, depending on our internet speeds. Zoom is a free, quick download that's very fast and provides voice and video in real time.
Rules of the game:
- Standard blackjack rules apply. Blackjack pays 3 to 2.
- Splitting is allowed once for a maximum of two hands if the player receives two cards of the same rank (a "10" and a face card count as the same rank.)
- Doubling down is allowed once as a first action. (No doubling down after splitting.) If you double down, we'll put up your second $2 bet, and you get only one more card, the traditional rule.
- Surrender is offered.
The maximum a player can win in will be $8. (This would happen if a player splits two cards of the same rank and wins both hands, or doubles down as a first action and wins the hand.)
At the conclusion of play, the player will win the value, in cash, of any chips they've won or any that remain in the betting circle. That means:
If the player gets blackjack, they win $5.
If the player wins their hand without getting blackjack, they get $4.
If the player doubles down as a first action and wins the hand, they get $8.
If the player splits cards of the same rank and wins one hand, they get $4.
If the player splits cards of the same rank and wins both hands, they get $8.
If the player surrenders as a first action, they get $1.
If the player loses their hand, they don't win.
If the player and dealer "push," the player wins the $2 chip they got by being selected to play.
Winners will be paid via PayPal. We'll cover PayPal fees, so you receive the amount you actually won.
With that, it's noon on Sunday, so this contest is officially open.
