Pocket kings in the SB, short handed. (2 Viewers)

Um, what? There was $86 in the pot before the turn, and villain bet $25. $86 + $25 = $111. Where did you get $161 ?

There was $136 in the pot before the turn. We bet the flop and got min-raised.

I read through the whole thing again and I think you're right. I was going with Dr Strange's post which apparently is wrong?

*** on to the turn ***

Hero calls $25. $86 in the pot, heads up.

The turn: < :ks: :8s: :6s: > :as:

Action on Hero - bet or check, if betting how much?

Alright, so with $136 in the pot and Villain leading out for half of what he raised to on the flop, I would bet my last dime he has a spade and will never fold it. But we have 10 outs to pair the board, making our drawing odds 3.6 to 1 while the pot odds are 6.5 to 1. Folding now is obviously wrong but I'm not putting another penny into this pot if the board doesn't pair on the river.

*** ok now the river ***

Hero clearly has the odds to draw and he pays $25 to draw

River is: < :ks: :8s: :6s: > :as: :4d: Bleh

Action on Hero. Should he bluff, check/fold or check/call? If bluffing, how much? If check/calling what is the price point to force a fold?

DrStrange

i'm probably check/folding here to a standard villain most of the time, but maybe c/r once in a while if i get a read on villain as really weak, thinking he will could bet/fold a low spade.

If hero wanted to try to bluff he should have czech-raised the turn bet. But I feel like this villain is almost certainly checking back anything but the Qs or Js (maaabe Ts) on that turn and bluffing here would be suicidal.

I think our hand still has some value. I don't think villain absolutely has to have a spade here at all. I'd like to see how much villain bets before I decide anything to be honest.

No one wants to bluff here? Hero is considering it . . . . .

DrStrange

I was contemplating it. I've pretty much been wrong on every post in every one of your threads. I think I'm just going to sit back and soak in the information.

*** The end ***

Hero contemplates a bluff but fears the villain is sticky enough to call with really weak holdings - say an eight high flush. Maybe if the bluff were big enough it might work, but this villain leaks badly by calling down light so Hero decides to be "safe"

Hero checks, planning to call a micro bet but nothing more.

However, villain checks behind and tables :kh: :qd:. So the bluff would have worked but hero would have been bluffing with the best hand.

Villain could be heard muttering that he thought Hero was slow playing a :qs: but it is no wonder that Hero didn't fold with that set.

Good thing villain didn't fire one more shot at the pot. I was expected a low flush rather than second pair / good kicker.
