Point Defiance dealer buttons? (1 Viewer)

I"m not a a fan of upside down and right side up dealer button. I don't have one example in my collection and will never miss it

For the record, I am likely in for one or two, and can almost guarantee my neighbor Jason will snag a couple as well.

Whomever organizes this, please just factor the costs to reship into the orig price. Say, ordering buttons at 2.80/ea, and shipping for 1-3 buttons is X and 4+ is Y. <---- just an example.

Seen some GB where ppl collect $ for the buttons, then collect again later for the shipping, lol

I like the idea of not being able to put the button on the table "upside down" in the abstract, but I just printed a ton of buttons that all have a direction on the edge. Dunno where that puts me.

I'll be sure to guide @12thMan along the way. I have been known to ask for shipping after the fact in the case of international packages though, for buyers I trust. I never know what that's going to cost before I go to the post office.

I think most people prefer minor gouging ($2 or less) to multiple payments.

fair enough. i've just had a heck of a time figuring out non-flat rate shipping options in the past (including having some show up with payment owed..wtf...lolpostoffice).

carry on :)

I've heard private complaints from new GB organizers wishing they'd combined/collected the shipping payments upfront, rather than having to track down, wait on second payments from participants. Once you get buttons in, and you decide to sit down and print shipping labels, package, etc. you want to do it all in one sitting, rather than a bit at a time as people pay up for the shipping costs.

Dealing with just one payment is easier for everyone, and I don't think there's a lot of gouging or shorting going on, as it's fairly easy to calculate shipping in advance (bubble mailer costs X and fits a certain # of buttons, otherwise people bump up to a SFRB).

Edited to add that I understand Links' point, and have experienced issues as described too, but hopefully the organizer calculates shipping correctly.

I definitely have as well. I think I've figured domestic first class out to be almost as easy as a flat rate box though. (International is another issue.)

1. Go to this paypal site (they don't let you link it, so copy and paste).
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_ship-now

2. Enter your return address and the recipient info.

3. Use first class mail parcel, large envelope/package, and check irregular or oddly shaped (I think this keeps it out of the rollers, which is good for CPC samples).

4. Put in the weight and add an oz or two. If you're really not sure, just use 8 oz. or something. It doesn't affect the cost much (2 oz was $2.04, 8 was $2.71 or something.).

5. Checkout and print out the label (small size) and tape to the envelope like you do with a flat rate box (covered in clear tape).

6. Put the envelope in the mailbox at your house.

7. Send the tracking info to the buyer.

I am happy with whatever design you guys end up with to go with my beautiful new set of PD chips! If price is good I will take 4.

The price is definitely good, atomik has been nice enough to start the line of comunication with Sal @ OWPS and supplied the art work to get the ball rolling.

So guys, I need to get the group buy thread opened with pricing and all the information...we need to settle on a "main" design to put on the page. The minimum is only 5, and the price is right around $4 so a minimum of a different design if people wanted it is a possibility, but to get this going let's pick one to start with.

@ovo , are you ok with the alternating text or would you only be interested if it was all one way? I personally can go either way, I have never had an alternating text dealer button so maybe I end up not liking it but I am a fan of it right now. However, if it was not alternating I wouldn't mind one bit.

I think most people have leaned toward the black text with alternating gold dealer on a darker edge. Everybody ok with that??

I am totally cool with buying 2 of 2 different designs if that's what everyone agrees on.

Atomik, if you have time and want to try another color, what do you think about some sort of blue for the button? I know the exact shade that was on the Evens Stevens button might not work, but damn that looked good, could some sort of blue work here? If it could look good I would probably be in for a couple.

I had mocked up these 2 bluish options already. The text can be updated directly from the final brown design, of course:

pd-button6-png.16373

How do either of those backgrounds look?

What about a yellow button? Ma lot of poker chips are blue.. I like the button to,stand out. Maybe a black or red hotstamp boat image?

Yup, ship it! Two options. I'll take one of each!

:)

I'm sure Jason and I will combine orders to save shipping. :)

And I will take 2 of each so our order is 3 and 3 = 6 total
Thanks guys!

I posted as much in the order thread, lol

I think this is the design thread, but given the horrible digital proof that was provided, I think the design thread needs some revival
