Poker Chip Shipping Tips and Tricks (4 Viewers)

Yeah, my bad, those are Bud Jones racks.

In my defence, they hold Matsuis better than Bud Jones. Go figure.

I don't have a scale and assume 2 racks of chips weigh about 4 lbs. What is the best/most economical way to ship two racks of chips to London/U.K.?

I'd use two white cardboard boxes inside a SFRB, put that inside a SFRB, inside a PFRE. inside another PFRE.

Depends. 200 chips will fit in a Priority padded envelope, but will only be under the maximum weight (4 lbs) if the chips average well under 9g each.

Probably will require either a Priority MFRB or a smaller First Class package. The latter is less expensive, but takes longer with no tracking.

I just went to USPO and weighed them...packed in one MFRB and some packaging materials, it was exactly 5lbs. If I find a smaller box to ship them in , and use some more packing material, I assume the weight will still be 5lbs.

I just shipped 200 chips (around 10.5g) plus a few other minor items using the method I described and it came out to 5.1 lbs. I guess not useful for international shipping but still a good way to save $6 if its CONUS.

I agree. PFRE are awesome for up to two racks of chips. I use a similar packing to yours, but only for CONUS. I do recognize that this is the reason many sellers on PCF only ship to CONUS, especially as the International shipping choices are very limited and expensive. I am just trying to save our friend in the U.K. a few bucks (y)

And what am I doing wrong? I got a quote for $193 from UPS and after applying the 40% shipping discount found here...it still came out to $118!!! I used 5lbs and dimension of 8x10x5

You can get around the brokering fees which both UPS and FedEx are asking by (as receiver) making an account with them and putting credit card information on file so they can auto-charge it, but they made that fairly hard for the average Joe. Forget website self-service. Need to call them.

We use UPS for our company and get a discounted rate already I wonder if that 40% would apply to me

First class international package service is limited to 4lbs, and has an optional delivery notification (tracking), depending on the destination.

Best way to ship 3 racks? I only worry because it is a weird number (just a tad too big for small flat rate and to small for med flat rate) and I don't want them bouncing around instead a medium or large box.

Probably wont be able to experiment too much as I will be going during lunch and on a short time window, but I will keep the padded envelope in mind next time.

Oh I just received the best packed poker chips I've ever seen in my life. Need to upload the pics I took and post them later.

Packing racks like the cartel. ;)

Where do you get the heavy craft paper? I save it when I get some with shipped items but I never have enough.

I have dug for a while and have come up with inconclusive results. What is the best way to ship 1 - 4 buttons domestically in US and to Canada?

USPS I imagine but...
Flat rate or regular postage?
Bubble wrapped envelop from store or something from USPS?
