I see you as a Junior Soprano poker game runner. Remember from the looney bin?1) OP: You’re beyond awesome.
2) I’ve vowed never to enter a nursing home if I can possibly help it. Think I’d rather die uncomfortably at home than in an antiseptic institution. But if I do wind up in some facility, I will definitely want to find a way to host games…
Thanks man! I don’t get a chance to play that much so doing this helps justify buying more chips…oh yeah and it’s great for the residents too.@Mushmanchuman this is awesome what you’re doing!
I’m blessed man. To be able to volunteer and do something I really love at the same time rocks.. I was hoping to deal a weekly game for some down-on-their-luck strippers at the club but we couldn’t get the logistics down. This place was across the road from the strip club and I just walked over and asked. The receptionist was like “why you smell like lavender and are covered in glitter?”
Looks like we are gonna be doing saturdays 1-4. Not cemented in yet but that looks like our weekly time slot for nowThat makes this an even better thread lol!!! I can't wait until I can start helping out
My name is Ben... I am.not running for anything... but I absolutely DO NOT approve this message!Do we even have to say card molds anymore? I assume every chip I see is card mold now
When you start getting regulars we can start betting on them
I'm hoping the old skinny guy with the red hat is NOT Wild Bill... but I fear it is... if NOT, I got $20 on Red Hat guy!! "Listen sonny, Don't you go making me get up ooutmy chair and whoop your ass!" If not I got $5 on Air Tank lady that kinda looks like NP! HahaI’ve got $5 on Wild Bill.

Yes thank you Jesus! LolI love almost everything about this thread! Absolutely heart warming as I used to volunteer in old folks homes as a youth also... I would almost pay to rail just to listen to the old farts talking trash to each other which I know occurs here! Lol
Now I did say ALMOST

There are still those that spend years of time and money finding and building the real things!
For example in your micro game here (which is adorable on all counts) literally the definition of nickle/dime poker from back in the day. I found myself curious if any casino ever made a penny and found the Artichoke Joe's from Carson City, NV. When Insaw the Peanuts on the inlaid chips... the whole Idea of "playing for penuts" reminded me of growing up and playing penny/nickle poker with Drunk grandpa... it didn't matter how many years it took, I decoded then and there that Artichoke Joe's would be my forever set, and even though the old folks "buy in" wouldn't cover a single chip... I would love the opportunity to break out an old vintage set of NV chips with them

BUT I do agree that the Card Molds are perfect chips for this game, especially that set... zero confusion there!

Seriously awesome stuff @Mushmanchuman believe it or not these folks don't have a ton to look forward to, but I guarantee every single one of them can tell you when the next poker game is!
Lord Bless this poker game, time is the most precious thing we have and again good on you Mr. @Mushmanchuman for donating your own for the betterment of a few that's time left in this world looks to be limited.
Awesome dude! I told them you would be bringing some swag when you come deal. They all though it was Christmas swag for decorations. Or a reef. I should have just said prizes…this is a tough crowd over here lolI'm going to look through my stuff. If anyone has any small prizes that they would like to donate that would be awesome. I'm not sure what that would look like, but I think it would be fun to show up with some swag. I also plan on reaching out to my leadership at U-of-M to see if I can get some fun shit to donate.

I'm working on it. I have reached out to my leadership for anything. Crickets so far lol.
I hear they want socks, especially this time of year
I wonder what Mildred is going to think when @detroitdad's instincts kick in and he yells out POT M'FER
She was asking if I knew any young studs that are somewhere in their late 40’s-early 50’s. I told her yes and he always brings bourbon and random swag from his job. I don’t think she was listening to me but Wild Bill blurted out “I LOVE BURBON AND MY B.A.R.”I'm guessing that is when she'll start hitting on me
