You don't need to take the felt off.Can the Deckmate be installed without either taking off the felt or replacing it? I don’t really want to remove the whole rail and cloth
Thank you for that information. Seems like it should be simple enoughYou don't need to take the felt off.
But you're going to need to cut thru it, the foam, and plywood of the table. Exacto blade to cut thru the felt and foam.
I wouldn't use a reciprocating saw to make the hole thru the plywood. I'd suggest the use of a jigsaw or router. Make sure you cover your table with a plastic dropsheet to account for the sawdust mess.
You also need to be mindful of the placement of other items. Table legs underneath and if you have a drop box or anything else that may interfere.
Hey Buge, sorry I didn’t see your DM earlier in the week. Like others have said, you don’t need to take of the felt and rail. I would outline the exact template and draw onto the actual felt. Trying to get it as square as possible is the key. From there I would take a box cutter or exacto knife and cut an X pattern from corner to corner. At this point I’ve helped install three total between mine and friends tables and the best method that I’ve decided in is drilling out the corners of the template first with a 1/2” drill bit and the use a jigsaw to connect the rounded corners. The 1/2” drill bit matches up perfectly with the rounded edge of the deckmate body. Outside of that you should be set. Only last step of advice is to make sure you have the proper template size so you don’t cut it too big. You can go slightly larger to account for folding the felt and pad inside of the hole once cut but error on the side of a tight fit and you can always shave incremental amounts off until it slides in. Best of luck, excited to see the end result.Thank you for that information. Seems like it should be simple enough
I think that may be true for a casino environment. Running 24/7/365.From what I've heard, the deckmate requires a lot of maintenance and often break down/require maintenance. Is this correct?
