Post a picture of your most recent purchase....(not poker chips) (10 Viewers)

Got this Joust Arcade1UP two Fridays ago, but did not have a chance to put it together until the end of this week. Has 14 games- Joust, MORTAL KOMBAT, MORTAL KOMBAT II, MORTAL KOMBAT 3, ULTIMATE MK 3, Rampage, Defender, Gauntlet, TOOBIN, WIZARD OF WOR, ROOTBEER TAPPER, BUBBLES, PAPERBOY, and KLAX. It is pretty awesome. They now have online leaderboards and some of the games you are able to play online with or vs other people.

This is a Cabinet they are going to announce in mid fall and 100% I am going to get NFL BLITZ when it is released. I just have to get it in the house past the wife. The below pictures I believe is a prototype.

My most recent purchase is a Cordwood Cover for the circular woodpile (a/k/a holz hausen) I’ve been building in anticipation of winter:

The Cordwood Cover is two pieces, only one of which is very slightly visible here.

The bottom piece is a round mesh fabric disk, 8 x 8 feet, with latching straps at four points. This goes on the ground before you start.

Then there is a vinyl cover, which protects the top of the pile from rain and snow. This also has adjustable latching straps to connect to the ones on the ground to prevent it from shifting/flying away.

It also has vents on top to allow moisture to escape. One reason to stack wood this way (besides not needing a frame or shed) is that it supposedly dries faster.

There is also a handy chart on the top which shows how much wood is in your pile based on its height. So far I’m up to 1.5 cords. I’ll probably stop at 2.5 cords then wait for cold weather…

Here’s the company site, which has pics of the actual cover and building process.

There are also tons of YouTube videos about how to build these. It’s not difficult once you get started; it’s a bit like a puzzle, picking out pieces to fit and occasionally putting a log sideways for stabilization.

The main thing is to make sure you’re tapering slowly inward, so the wood all leans toward the center, and won’t tip over.

Nice! That’s pretty cool. You mean I designed and built this for no reason?!? ;-)

Gotta know…what’s your impression of the Vegas pinball museum???
I haven't been since they opened the new location on the strip, but the old location was pretty good. Lots of games were out of order but with so many others, I got my fill of playing some really rare ones. I've heard the new location is much better with the games spaced out.

The newest game picked up this past weekend.... and a hell of a deal :) Classic 1986 Williams Grand Lizard. Once I'm done shopping it out, it will go in the classics corner. More will be arriving once I sell off the Vegas house mold chip set (currently half is in the auction section of PCF)

Today's purchase....courtside seats to see THE GOAT, Sue Bird, clinch a 1st round win in the WNBA playoffs (haters, please STFU).
Yep, that's me, wearing the white hat and clutching a beer in the first row. What a total blast.

If the 2nd round goes to 5 games, my next purchase will be a trip to Vegas to watch the deciding game between the Storm and the Aces....

That’s awesome, Mel! You need that photo framed.

I picked this NBA JAM Arcade1UP off of Craigslist on Sunday. I made the guy an offer on Saturday and he accepted. According to the owner it was used for only one day to film a YouTube video of the unboxing, build, and review his son did and then they moved it to storage which is where I met the guy and picked it up. It was bubble wrapped in great condition. One of my friends came over tonight and we played a few games and had a blast. The best part of this is I went to the Windcreek in PA on Saturday and got in a 4 hour 1-2 session and won most of the money to pay for this. So thrilled to add this to the collection. The wife won't be as thrilled.

This was my Son's old play room which on one wall still has his toys, but he never liked playing in the Playroom because it is in the basement in the backroom so I moved my arcade machines in the room and turned it into a basement arcade. I have six ARCADE1UPs and have room for one more in my main basement which will be NFL BLITZ which will be released in October. If I want something else then something will have to leave.

I got a tube amp for my headphones...I'm pretty excited about it.
Now I can rock out late at night.
Awesome buy! I thought about going tube one day but I'm working a Schiitt magni/modi stack right now to power some planer magnetic headphones. It's a really good purchase that you can enjoy for a long time I think! Enjoy!

Thanks!

Shiitt makes good stuff. I thought about going that way myself.

Indeed. Going from not much (standard audio on the computer with a Dragonfly DAC) to something with more definition and power isn't much of a jump (was about 286 total for the DAC and Headphone amp) but the quality difference is very noticeable. My next jump when I'm ready will be the tube amp variety with an upgraded headphone system but I'm not ready for that rabbit hole just yet :)

It certainly is a rabbit hole... I'll be paying it off for a bit.
