Post mockups for fun/science? (6 Viewers)

Was watching a program this afternoon that had probe photos of the rings orbiting Uranus (like Saturn) and how orbiting moons kept the rings in check. Immediately thought of mocking up a set very much like this one using hi-def NASA images of the planets. Great idea. Small world. bad pun

A set depicting some of the moons found in the solar system could be pretty cool, too.

Yeah, I though about a Jupiter moon set or Saturn moon set, but most things are grey or brown. With the planets, I incorporated the colors of the planet into the edge spots and the chip base color was seen on the planet's color. With moons, you get 7 grey chips and 1 orange one, one brown one using this method.

If the planets aligned, a vintage Vegas Club Courage tribute set.

what do you guys think of this set? i am thinking of making a "Good 'Nuff Game Room" combined cash/tourney set. Artwork TBD. denoms would be 25 - 100 - 500 - 2000 - 10000:

My first mock up. Let me know what y'all think. Looking to go with complementary colors rather than contrasting colors. Not to sure about my orange that I would use as my $5000 chip because it is the exact inverse of my yellow $1000 chip.

I like the blurple chip -- not a color combination commonly seen.

I can pick out the inspiration for (nearly) all of the other chips. ;)

The blurple is actually where it started. I began at the top and worked my way down (which is the first time I've taken that approach).

Frac - Virginia Tech? Wasn't until I posted it that I realized those were basically the Trop $5 colors.
$1 - Paris/Discovery Crusies
$5 - 20th Century $5/Ultimate Bet $1000 - If not in this set, I *really* want to use this combo somewhere down the line.
$20 - PCA Hundo - Although I wasn't specifically thinking of using that chip, it's clearly where I ended up.
$100 and $500 - Just liked them. Is the Hundo similar to something out there?

Not that I can recall (hence my 'nearly all' reference). But it looks good, too. Lots of red/white/blue chips out there (and even more mock-ups), but I think that one is pretty subtle and less in-yer-face than most.

Here's one I threw together the other day, working on a dual-purpose set (tourney/cash with 25/100/500/2000 denominations). Quarter-pies that use vertical tournament colors (green/black/lavender/orange) and horizontal cali cash colors (chocolate/blue/yellow/charcoal). The in-progress chip on bottom row would be a no-denom, subbing as either a pink/red T5000/T10K tourney chip or white $100 cash chip (could even be used as a nickel).

In all cases, the chips are half weighted and half non-weighted.

Interesting concept. That NCV is a tough one. The white/bright white is obviously set in stone. Instead of a red or pink, you could also go with a retro blue or light blue. Not sure which combination I would favor in the NCV spot, but I do like what you did w/the rest of the set.

Reason for the jockey mold?

Most similar to THC in terms of eight designs around the circumference combined with an outer ring (and no glossy inlay). Don't really care what the image is, but the overall effect just comes across as classy to me. I have several chips, and I really like the feel and sound of the mold. These could end up getting made on either diasqr or cirsqr, however.

Yeah, xxx/white is pretty much a given. Trying to avoid using a color shade already used elsewhere is what landed me on pink/red for the tourney color, but none of the ones mocked up jumped out and grabbed me.

I really like the top row. I went through several variations (including vegas cash colors) before finally settling on this lineup.

I like the red/bright white combo. It's probably one of my favourite color combos on chips.

Tourney set? Denoms?

Whenever I get the funds I plan on going with a one table quarter pie cash set on the B mold (Initial's are B.B.).

As time permits I've just been mocking up different, random quarter pie sets. Saving the ones I like (like this one).

Your set was my inspiration to have a quarter pie set. Thanks.

I am in the process of buying a house and definitely do not have the money to buy a set of custom chips, but these are probably the ones I would get for a cash game set. I would use the first quarter and the second $25. You guys come up with all these crazy designs, but I prefer standard/basic chips myself. I would also get permission from whoever created the Aurora set to steal his $1.....
