Expand please, did you not like the change in feel? From what I have seen so far, these take oil well. really helps the colors pop.
They ended more slippery, which, to me, outweighed the benefit of the improved color, which was nice on some colors, but negligible on others.

One thing I like about the 8v’s compared to the othe china clays I’ve tried is how well they stack. The spirit molds also stack well, but they’re brittle, whereas the 8v’s are very durable.

Did you oil just the edges or the whole chip? I've got 2 barrels that I oiled just the edges, and they aren't slippery to me at all. On the browns it made a huge difference in the color. On the blues not as much.

They are all racked. The colors really pop with the oil. Significant difference from out of the box.

As I have done with every set I have oiled, I am a chronic over oiler. They will still be too wet to put in play tomorrow, but they will "cure" perfectly for next month's tourney. I did the same thing for my spirit molds and cps chips. It took a couple weeks for them to get right, but they are beauties now (as far as CC's go). They both still hold their enhanced colors and stack and shuffle well. I would expect the same from these.

My stickers should be here soon so I’ll be putting my set together right away. Just wondering what are your guys thoughts on oiling chips? I bought some mineral oil and did some tests on them but it doesn’t seem to do much besides shine them up a bit? What do u guys think?

I oiled a few extras, just to see what I thought. Didn’t make a huge difference in most colors. Browns and purples were a nice improvement, but the chips felt more slippery. If I were to oil mine, I’d only do the rolling edges.

I oiled the edges on my tournament set and it made a noticeable improvement. Nothing spectacular, but definitely worth it. I will definitely do the same for the cash set I’m working on.

Light oil helps brighten up the colors. You can just wipe it off after you apply it, that’s what I did.

How do you guys like your honeycomb racks? I picked some up off amazon, they fit 20, but I find some of the colours are really snug. I’m thinking of taking a Dremel and filing down the inside slightly. Anyone else have this issue?

Yes that’s the issue with some of the colors being thicker same issue with some of the racks from the PGI fitting tight.

Very happy with how the Gear labeled set with the RED $5 turned out. Looks decent on my buddy's new table. Maybe in the future I'll have my place ready and show off the purple $5 set with the labels from Gene (same design of course).

@Highli99 awesome set! I was in the throes of creating a “Fish Tank” set on my 8Vs, may have to go another direction! Kids are Sebastian (Seabass) and Nessie (Lochness Monster).

Great design @Moxie Mike

Thanks! If you have an inspired idea you should go for it! Those are great kids names btw.

Well it took a while to figure out my colour scheme because I over think everything but this is what I ended up with. First picture is cash game set. Second is tournament set. I might just end up using the $20 chip as a bounty and use the $25 green in the tournament set as a cash game chip as well.

Got in touch with an artist, and I'm finally getting close to having my tournament set design completed. My colors are green/black/pink/white/brown, and I'm color matching the dress.

I'm stuck choosing between these two label layouts, and would love some feedback from the experts here. Which one should I go for? Any other tips for improving the design?

ps. I already reached out to @abby99 and have her blessing for using the "Lady Luck" theme. :)
