Public Tina Hybrid mold part Duex (1 Viewer)

Yep.
Yep. I've liked (and bought) 'em, but they were not popular with my players, most of whom had no knowledge of or interest in PCF.

I get tired of explaining what PCf is and they don’t understand anyway.

To the World

Poker Chips = Dice Chips and you can buy them at Walmart so why have a forum for them?

Just curious: would keeping the sticker recess a bit smaller allow for more surface contact, and make the chips less slippery? And if so, would sacrificing label size be worth a less slippery chip?

I have no doubt that is accurate. It’s why the 43mm Greek hybrids feel so good. It’s why the forum flipped over the 43mm Sunfly hybrids with the small recess, like 7 years ago. And why do you think RHCs and giant inlay RHCs have gotten such a bad rap over the years?

People who want lots of fancy art on their inlay/labels are gonna want bigger recesses for sure. It’s tough to argue with because everybody’s entitled to choose their tradeoffs. But all things being equal, a smaller recess will make for a better feeling chip.

I think a cross would be amazing.

So far for me:
1. Jesters
2. 10 stars
3. Diamond (very close, almost tied with stars)
...

I don't want to like that Jester mold but fuuuuuu......View attachment 1371955 Don't start brainstorming inlay ideas...don't start thinking of inlay ideas...go away inlay thoughts....shit.
I'm team Jesters so far as well. I think it's pretty universal in terms of usability across creative chip set ideas. Even non-circus/clown/king/queen etc ideas could use the mold... kinda like the FDL mold.

Let’s do an East Coast and West Coast theme, start a very unnecessary rivalry .

Dont look at the name, totally a coincidence :cool

But seriously, seems like the jester is gaining some real traction, wouldn’t be opposed to it. Not sure what I’d want to do with it but I do like it.

The roulette mold is a good idea, but I don’t think we have enough roulette hosts…

Stars example... @SeanGecko - don't kill me for my spot/color choices. ha.. but can change around.

I would be very careful to not let the outer ring get close to the edge. It may make the edge of the chip more rounded and less sharp. If you’re looking for a more rounded edge, that’s fine.
I just see the difference between the Greek and the web mold…the Greek has a ring close to the edge and the chips are a bit more rounded than the web mold.

^This, plus the preference for star line outlines vs fully debossed images (which structurally weaken the chip, collect gunk, and cause it to weigh less).

IMO, this variation was the best of the star molds, but still needs a few tweaks.
  • As suggested above, move the outer ring in a touch.
  • Moving the ring in will require the stars to be a little smaller
  • Can we see it with 8 instead of 6 stars?
  • I'm not sure about the middle ring... Maybe not have touch the star? Maybe dashes? Any other suggestions?
  • What is the inlay size on this as a 39mm chip?

I agree with all of those points. And I think I like the idea of no middle ring, keep it simple. Nice work everyone, I'm definitely here for the Star mold and the "CASINO" mold.
