Yea I am just getting my ideas rolling here, but I figure enough people have these 3 denoms laying around and might be looking to off-load some chips before Jim's sale. Obviously this wouldn't be my "dream setup" but I'm smitten enough with the Paulsons that I'm willing to pay to play.

Just FYI, I think most people here consider a "micro" cash set to be one where the small chip is smaller than a quarter - like a nickel or a dime.

Thanks! Added quotes, for fun. Hopefully having the demons listed catches any potential sellers attention. In the back of my head, micro also meant small amount, since I’d likely be fine with a smaller amount of total chips than normal

I have a Majestic tourney set. But yes, jumping in head first.

Budget is a tough question, I’m more interested in options similar to the chip exchange cinncy deal. I’m wise enough to know this won’t be my last set, but dumb enough to not be patient and piece something together slowly with a larger spread out purchase scenario.

Well certainly the used Paulsons from Cinncy are cheap (read: "less expensive"), all things considered (barring a craigslist score).

By being patient, I meant I would be more comfortable spending more.. not less. Spreading out the purchase, rather than lump sum.


Edit: Perhaps the title would have been better written as "Do you have anything I should consider before pulling the trigger on The Chip Exchange Horseshoe chips". Which I'd obviously still have to source a frac for.

And therein lies the big catch on doing it on a limited budget. Paulson casino fracs are expensive, and a single rack can easily eat up half the cost of an (otherwise) inexpensive 500-chip cash set.

My advice would be either wait for the upcoming chip room sale, or at least wait until the sale is a few days off and see what chips people are selling (desperately) so they have money to buy more chips.

I think a game with a 50c bb is still micro, and pretty much everyone around here agrees.

One way to think about it: the lowest stakes in the local casino are already "low." Homes games that are even lower are likely to qualify as smaller than that.

I'm new here - I can only draw upon the experience of the last sale. But my guess would be he'll be selling these chips in less than a month. I wouldn't be shocked if he announced tonight that the sale is taking place in a week and a half. He did say that he wouldn't be waiting until black friday.
For the initial Cleveland sale, the prices were 49 cents for used $1's, 59 cents for used $5's and 69 or 79 cents for used $25's. The scale of that sale was so huge, it might not be useful on predicting prices of future sales. On the other hand, his business model seems to indicate that he's more interested in selling chips quickly than maximizing profits so my guess is that the used chips will sell for similar prices.

ive got 200 AC $1's id consider letting go for $630. def less than i paid but way cheaper that you could piece meal it. all atlantic city casinos, paulson 7 edgespot pattern, and house mold. have over 200, and includes the atlantis and brighton chips. will include all extra chips, 10 golden nuggets and 10 harrahs that are not included in the 200 count, not house molds but same spot pattern. works great in a $1/$2 or $2/$5 set since its the smallest chip. not sure how if would work being in the middle of a set.

i've got 200 extra live MGM national harbor $1's id consider letting for $350. all cleaned and stand on edge.

ive got 200 extra live MGM national harbor $5's id consider letting go for $1200. can even make it 190 regular $5s and 10 grand opening $5s. all cleaned and stand on edge.

ive got 20 extra live MGM national harbor $20's id consider letting go for $600. all cleaned and stand on edge.

if u wanted just plain old dirty MGM live chips, i can offer to grab u whatever u want. u just cover gas, paypal and shipping.
