Everyone who has paid so far should now have a "paid" note next to their name. Please check to make sure yours is accurate and let me know if it is not.

Thanks

The majority of raffle tickets sell within the first 24 hours for successful raffles. We're now two days in and have only sold 36 tickets so far (35 of which were on day 1, and only 1 so far on day 2). I will lower the requirement for the number of tickets to 75 to help this go through, but we'd still be a long ways off. If we don't reach 50 tickets by the end of the day, I will refund everyone who has paid thus far and keep this up as an interest raffle thread as I don't want to hold onto everyone's money for months on end waiting for these to sell. If we end up with 75 tickets claimed, I will then ask for payment again. But I don't want to hold your money hostage in the meantime.

I realize that some, perhaps many, of you might think that I'm jumping the gun here as it's only been two days, but I'm fairly confident in my prediction that this is unlikely go through based on how previous raffle sales have gone or not gone in the past.

Alternatively, if you think I'm just nuts, I will also offer the following side bet to appeal to your gambling itch:

I will offer 5 to 1 odds on up to $20 in action (so my $100 vs your $20) that we don't sell (must be paid for) 75 tickets within 30 days of the OP, which would be May 15, 6:20 PM PDT. You are free to promote this raffle as much as you wish if you take my side bet, and can purchase up to 5 tickets like everyone else.

Good luck everyone!

Now go prove me wrong and start claiming those tickets!!!

Excuse me sir, I should be paid up. Let me know if not received.

Well that's sad. A 1 in 80 (or 75) chance of winning these chips is significantly better than no chance all.

What about a hybrid option? Something like you'll sell 60 raffle tickets at $33 and the winner can purchase the set for $600 or whatever. Obviously with the purchase price laid out before any tickets are sold.

I think this set still might be a bit too expensive to find the right balance but curious to see if people think it's a viable option for selling a valuable set like this at a very reasonable price for the winner/buyer.

I would be open to this. But all ticket holders would have to be in agreement.

Interesting thought, but I'd just take my $33 back and resign myself to a TRKless life.

I suspect you wouldn't be alone in that decision. I would anticipate that around half of the buyers would do the same.

Selling 50 to 60 hybrid tickets may prove more difficult than 75 to 80 regular tickets.

Side bet window closes at midnight tonight PST. I reserve the right to adjust the odds as more people claim tickets.

Heavyball has pulled out, so everyone below him has moved up 5 spots, beginning with MatB. We're at 39 now.

Get to selling Mel!

You aren't really going to refund everyone's money if this doesn't get to 50 today, are you?

Give it this week to get to 50. I think your raffle is doomed to fail if you start giving people their money back. Is my $20 really that important to you?? :)

Come on, tomorrow is TAX day. Give people a couple of days to recover. I know people will want to gambol for these beauties!!

That was my plan. But I can give it a few more days to let people recover from doing their taxes. We'll see if we can pick up steam after that. I'll reevaluate after the weekend. If it's nothing but pints and crickets in here though, then sadly, I will have no other choice :(

Three (3) tickets, please. Will send $96 when I get home tonight. Thanks!

And please let this run for more than just two days. Some folks only log in once every few days. And if you get close to your numbers, some current buyers will bump up their ticket count to put it over the top. :whistling:

Travis, does each entry get 13 numbers instead of 12 given the reduction from 80 to 75 entries? Or just more re-draw non- assigned numbers?

I'm in for one!
edit: can you make it two? just saw the update for the side draw! Thanks

I'll take the side bet if it is still open. I love to bet.

I just noticed that all of those responses were last night. Damn, lost a chance to gamble. I'm going to have to go out and buy a dozen lottery tickets to fill the hole in my life.;)

How about just buying a raffle ticket instead? MUCH better chance of winning!!
