I'm looking for ideas on how to get enough players to sustain a monthly Fixed Limit game. My current game has 6 players I can get regularly (the max I can accommodate too), but rarely at the same time.
My plan is to send out invites to friends/coworkers that I haven't played or discussed poker with before (not looking for randoms I don't know).
How do I entice these players??? The best I can come up with is branding it as "Retro Poker Night" with a message like:
- Dealer's choice with old school games too (Hold'em, Draw & Stud).
- Retro clay casino chips, playing cards, and felt.
- Feature cocktail and snacks.
- Bet limits so you don't bust out and end up dealing for everyone else.
- Expect to win/lose about $20 on an average night.
- $40 buy-in so you can keep playing if you get unlucky early.
Any new players will get priority, followed by my "friendly" regulars. I'll give new players priority for the next month's game, which will always be on the "X" day of the month.
I think it's a pretty good start, but feedback is appreciated.
Thx
