The 500 edge art doesn't match the face. I would suggest the "default" 500 face art to ensure the 500 and 5000 are not confused.

I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean the edges of the chips on the bottom? The numbers on the edges are what Gene provided on his PDF. I have superimposed my design on his PDF on the chip faces (only) and not touched the chip edges (I wouldn't put numbers on the edges anyway).

And this is one with white contours following the numbers.

Ahhh. Ok. Your T500 chip face is based on the 25 cent chip. When looking at it from the edges, it's a bit confusing to me, as the chips with "500" on the edge is purple with different edge spots. When I matched up the denom on the face with the denom on the edge, I got

In any event, I'd be wondering how close the 500 and 5000 chips would look together in a spashed pot for people like me who have issues with red and green. I see some pinks as grey or off-white. In these pictures, the only real colour difference I see between the 500 and 5000 faces is with the edge spots and the design around the "inlay" area. I do not believe I would be able to distinguish those chips on a typical oval if I was sitting at the far end away from them.

@Mtvernonbryan
Ok can someone explain to me in retard terms what exactly we can do here? Spell it out easy for me and I will get to it onc I’m done licking windows.
You can order any of the chip designs in the original post.
You can customize the "inlay" (the white circle of the designs), however, the chip has to incorporate the outer ring/rolling edge designs supplied by Gene.
You can customize and/or eliminate the denomination on the rolling edge, and even add text onto the rolling edge.

I think that covers it.

It doesn't really matter what denominations that you need as the compass rose can be changed to match the edge spots pretty easily b/c Gene provided the CMYK codes. So you can pick whatever chip and match the colors. I didn't appreciate your point about the pink/grey distinction so it is easily rectified.

For example, here is one where the pink and purple chip are both 500 and the grey and brown are 5000, so it really depends what someone wants:

@ABC Gifts and Awards

Are these blanks something you will continue to have in the future (for re-orders)? Or is it once they're gone, that's it?
The plan is that we should continue to have these for as far out as I can see. But...being in this business for 15 years now, I know that things happen and there's no way to guarantee availability of anything for an indefinite amount of time. That being said, this is NOT a case of "we only have so many chips and when they are gone, they are gone".

So I got my sample set. Some of the printing on the $500 is doubled, so it looks like there's a shadow behind it. For the sample set, it's inconsequential. I'm not asking for a replacement. I'm curious, though, what your replacement policy would be for a real set.

Showing both sides... first side is with the doubling on "MOUNT LAKE TERRACE, WA" and the second shows a slight shadow under the "5".

Yep...I had a batch that moved...thought I caught all of them but obviously not. Top photo should have definitely been taken out. Bottom photo would be acceptable.

I do see a slight shadow. Probably why these are samples... what have people found is the best way to contact ABC? I couldn’t reach them by phone today.
Patience my friend. Short staffed today, and everyone on board to meet a deadline on a big order. I'll call it a day in a little while. :whistle: :whistling:

I've been wondering lately, how vendors select their sample sets. Do they pick the cream of the crop? Or do they use up the rejects? I can see arguments for and against both methods. It makes sense for a manufacturer to select the best chips for a sample sent to a retailer. Not sure what makes sense for a retailer, though.

As a collector, of course I hope for the best.

I don't know about other places, but we absolutely do not pick the cream of the crop chips for sample sets. They aren't meant to be "collector's sets", they are made to be a sample of what an actual order would be. You aren't going to get perfect centering on a full order, so if we picked only chips that were perfectly centered for a sample set it seems misleading to me. That being said, that one chip with the Mount Lake Terrace blurred should have been thrown out from both a sample set run and a regular production run. And who ran those and missed pulling it out? Me! :wow:

Adding to the people who have said Gene does exceptional work.

I've been working with him on a cash and a related tournament set (both on the ChipCo blank) and his samples (and printing) have been really top notch. Additionally, he has been helpful from a design perspective letting me know that certain parts of the face design didn't work well with the edge design (the edge spots/face are aligned). Plus I've been a little bit of a PITA (no need to say anything Gene) and tweaked the design a number of times but he has been great about that and getting me samples. So I've had a great experience.

Don't take my word for it on the quality of the printing, see for yourself (hard to do them justice in a mobile phone photo - the T25 has dust on it and the slight blurring on the "Olivia's" text in the top row is the photo, in person they are as sharp as the bottom row):

If Gene didn't deliver high quality products and provide superb customer service, he would be super vulnerable offering his wares in an open forum such as this where bad news travels fast. I think it's testament to his quality and responsiveness that he caters to us fussy chip addicts without a single complaint. I think we're super lucky to have access to ABC as a vendor here.
