No, "only" $3.73...$4/chip for BJ's. Reeeeeeealy?
I´d feel like you, cause we are talking about "plastic chips", but for that price you can only get the $1´s, $5`s and $25´s. The hundos and $500´s went for $4-$6 (6 years ago).I guess my ceiling is the same as Larry's: $1.50 per. I wouldn't be ecstatic to buy at that price, but I would probably still buy. I think a more reasonable price would be $1 per or perhaps just over. Where I would price them around that number would depend on how motivated I am to sell.
The only explanation for the price in this auction is a brain aneurysm. I'm dealing with a similar seller in a real estate matter which only goes to show you that morons will be morons no matter the scale.

It's my auction and I don't have a brain aneurysm nor am I a moron. Asking price is probably not going to be final price unless someone really wants to pay that much for it. I would be stupid to not take it if someone is willing to for it. I have never listed this set on craigslist so you must have contacted someone else.
I'm asking $3995 or best offer. The words "best offer" mean it's a negotiation.
$1.50 is perfectly reasonable price per chip, but I have to take into account where the chips are being sold. eBay takes 10%. Paypal takes another 3%. Shipping is probably around $40 w/ insurance. In the end, if I sold the chips for $1.50 each, I will net approximately $1.30. I lose about 14-15%.
I would prefer to sell the chips somewhere other than eBay, but it was a place to start to advertise where there's a much bigger audience than on this forum or another.
As for the color variance on the $5, the subdued red color is due being untouched by one's hands. The colors will normalize once you start handling the chips. You can see the matte-ish colors on the rest of the denoms.
All due respect I honestly think you should consult a neurologist. Undiagnosed aneurysms can lead to very serious issues.
Should I just give the chips away to prove I don't need to consult a neurologist? Capitalism still exists in this country unlike what you and the left want to push it towards.
I really just mean to look out for your best interest. I'm sorry if I came off as disrespectful in some way. To be completely frank it just struck me that I had to speak out.
My first wife died suddenly of a brain aneurysm and I was plagued by guilt. The neurologist said I couldn't possibly have seen it coming. But then he saw her eBay history. Dozens and dozens of items listed with prices that had no basis in reality which, it turns out, is a newly discovered symptom of small scale brain aneurysms which, if undiagnosed, can lead to severe injury or even death.
Feel free to PM me if you might be interested in a referral. I'm in the northeast but I have been active nationwide in the auction-indicated brain injury community so I have a lot of contacts. Or I could just be a sympathetic shoulder. Best wishes.
For the next 24 hours, I'm willing to sell the set of chips to anyone on the board for $1.50/chip minus shipping. For you jbutler, I'll sell the chips to you for $3.72 each.
I guess you haven't gotten the lobotomy that Allah asked of you. You should be so lucky in your afterlife.
Yikes.
I just wanted to see how far he'll push it. I doubt anyone on the board would take me up on my offer for the chips. Most people on the internet is all talk. When it comes to putting up, they shut the eff up pretty quick.
On this point you're absolutely correct. People on this board talk a big game but when I comes to spending serious money on chips, it just ain't gonna happen. People here make sound financial decisions.
POPcorn ready!
You really think paying money for poker chips are sound financial decisions? Paying money for poker chips is a luxury that most in the world can't afford.
Holy crap, Jack....lighten up already.
