dang nice work @RichMahogany, was it just a gambling session or was there some harvesting involved? So glad 2 c that Pechanga upgraded their Chipcos to a Paulson house mold.

Just a gambling session. Not sure if I’m ready for another project right now, already have too many in the works. I did see some mint racks in the cage when I cashed out. According to the chip guide they switched to the house mold Paulsons in April of this year

Why so many ones? Moar chips?

Maybe to stimulate action? Everyone that bought in at the table was given a rack of $1s. The big stack at the table had what looked like $500+, all ones. No one had any $5s except for the barrel I brought to the table. One OMC commented that I was using the wrong chips when I made my first bet with them lol.

Waiting for a seat to open

When buying in from a cage, I always buy in with a minimum of 1 rack of $1s. If I'm getting $300 I'll ask for 2 racks of $1s and a barrel of $5s.

It makes harvesting for chips easier, as I can sort while I play. It also keeps the table action moving. Singles are always coming off the table in rakes or tips. It is far easier for them to buy $20 off of me than it is to get a chip-runner or floor person to bring more $1s, which seems to always be a delay.

In for $195 out for $570 in three hours at Blackhawk Ameristar last night. Was up to $700 but started playing dumb hands. My own fault.

This was a huge leak of mine, and still gets me once in a while, usually when I'm up big or down big. My brain says, "Hey, if those idiots can win with trash, surely I can too?"

It took me a while, but I finally (mostly) learned that that voice is a signal that it's time to rack up and go home.

Same, same.

Last time I was at this specific casino I let an upswing of +$700 dwindle down to zero by chasing garbage hands, and trying to play the "big stack bully" role. So, when I dropped $130 as a result of "widening my range," I decided to stick a fork in it and head home. Profit is profit. Hopefully I've learned my lesson.

Odd! Every casino I've ever played in has very few 1s on the table. Not that I mind a huge pile of chips, but I only really prefer 20-40 1s in my stack in a 1/1+ game.

Definitely makes sense if you're planning to harvest.

That's the difference between limit and no-limit. Everywhere I have played limit the whole buy in comes in one denomination. In 2/4, 3/6, and 4/8 it's typically singles.

(In my other posts in this thread, 8/16 is played with 2s and 10/20 with 5s.)

The advantage is there is not need to make change with bets, and all actions are clear.

The volume of chips does not negatively impact a limit game because there is never a need to count a stack unless a player's stack is short of a full bet.

Obviously in no limit, you have to count stacks rather frequently, so you would rather that be fewer than 100ish chips. So you tend to get higher denom chips and just a few for use in blinds.

Yeah I assumed this was no limit?

To get an idea of how crazy this game gets:

K285 doubles suited just called $300 (not closing the action) preflop. 4 people see the flop for the $300.

He then called off for his stack ($$450) on a 10 7 4 rainbow board.

2 K turn and river to scoop the $2k+ pot!!!

So sick!

No wonder you're such a huge winner.

If I hadn't already spent a good chunk of my life there, I'd consider packing my bags and moving back to Ohio.

Players Casino in Ventura. Some really awful games there so I rarely play. This is a $1-2 blue chip game $50-100 max buy-in :vomit: with an automatic $6 drop if it goes to the flop :vomit::vomit::vomit: Watched a guy limp the button and refuse to chop 3 ways (allowed), then bet $5 on the flop, to win...$0. Watched another guy who was waiting for chips win a pot, and he ended up owing a dollar when he eventually got his rack.

In for $100.
