2/4? Screams limit to me, and w/ a $40 BI, I just assumed it was. I think of the progression of NL as $1/2 and then $2/5. And typically Limit as $2/4 and $3/6, but I shouldn't assume. I don't normally play limit, so I'm certainly no authority.

Nice job regardless. :)
you're right but nowadays we have the tendancy to see NL everywhere, that was MY mistake to misunderstand it

I didn't consider it either. Again, I stay as far away from limit as possible

Thanks guys.

@Nbk No change in strategy vs buying in at a higher amount, just thought why buyin for more if i don't need to. My experience with limit so far is if I play smart i can make a small buyin work. I'm thinking 40 is the smallest I can go with 2/4 limit though while still having enough for a few up and down swings.

Good memories there. Took an 8 hour road trip with some buddies to play there once I turned 18. Would love to have a set of singles for limit games.

I really like it there. Having like 50+ poker tables in the cardroom and so many different limits available is nice. Plus you can play some table games or bet on horses while your there.

If you ever want me to harvest you some chips let me know.

... he talked... a lot... (very nice guy) talked a lot![emoji41]

Every time you raised him did you say, "More 'spensive"?

I keed. Teddy is a character, but I've never heard of him getting nearly as out of line as a lot of other modestly known mid-limit grinders, so I have no reason not to like the guy.

It was a good table with some really solid players. I went in ($100) determined to play good hand selection and position. Worked pretty well after a lucky break that rivered my top 2 pair on the flop (against villains flopped trip 2's) to a better full house K's/J's. He later cracked my A's with a rivered flush.
Thought I did well putting myself into positions to get a few lucky cards and really tried to get value on my made hands. Player on my left kept my hands very tight for the first hour because he raised heavy preflop and flop... I actually ended up taking much of his original $500 ish stack. I really should have walked away earlier and with a little more but stuck around long enough to lose a turned A high straight to villains flopped nut flush and then shortly after that had my turned K high flush destroyed by a rivered full house.
"Iceman" was a good training experience... he talked a lot (this can NOT be emphasized enough) but it was more the "I'm a celebrity, this is who I know, I have ? number of final tables, etc" type of talking that might have "made me" want (stupidly) to play against him. Instead I just concentrated on playing a solid game and came away pleased with the results. As I said before, nice guy just a talker... fun night.
(not good with trip reporting or hand descriptions so my apologies in advance!)[emoji41]

Did he lose a lot of money to you?
Thanks. Not a lot. I won a couple of good size pots and he folded a couple of min + raises I made when I was in position. Mostly the guy to my left and a couple of other players.
Did get into a 3 way all in pot towards the end (not something I wanted really... put all my hard work in jeopardy![emoji41]) with a flopped K high straight, rainbow board... player to my right , first to act, bets post flop for 80, I call, last guy raises to 260, initial raiser goes all in for about that amount... I raise all in for 500 more which puts the final player all in. He calls. Initial raiser turns over trip 10's and then we both turn over K,Q and chop. Huge pot! Ended ok![emoji6]

Final hand from a PLO tournament a while back. Got it all in with flopped top set plus wheel draw vs middle set with wheel draw. Turn gave us both flush draws (mine nuts), but still had to sweat three outs on the river (finished with the wheel). Ended up collecting every single bounty chip in play, for which I credit my lucky card capper.

Chips are one of my mixed-Paulson THC sets (Aztar 25, Casa 100, Le Cove 500, Empress 1000):

I could get use to this...
Overnighting in CMH and looked up the Hollywood Casino tournaments. Right now they're in the middle of the Ohio Poker Championship. Today, alas, they had their PLO tournament. Not even a consideration about playing! I do go and play at the 1/2 game and leave a little healthier than when I sat down. [emoji41]

One of the Red River 1k buyin tournaments up at Winstar in Oklahoma. Ended up placing 13th out of 1084. Not bad, closest I've been to a final table!

Probably because they seem to have made a bunch of random red and lights appear on the table...
:D Last night was the finale of our group's Christmas season cash games, my buddy hung those new laser light things that project the Christmas lights onto your house above the table. I'm still seeing little red and green dots this morning, lol

Yeah. I figured, Just having some fun. By the way, though, What's up with that playing surface? Custom dyed speed cloth? I like it.
