Poker - in a distillery!?!

*Starts packing up a U-Haul to move to.... checks post again to see where I'm moving to. Sees winter hats on everyone in pic and 'Ottawa'. Unpacks U-Haul*
:(
You called it. Its magic up here from May to October but pretty chilly right now. 20191221_095447.jpg

Year end "main event" for my Tuesday night group: slightly longer rounds and $50 entry instead of $20.

I never really got a foothold - losing bigger pots than I won, cashed in my "pre-buy" early after 4b shoving AA, getting called by QTs and losing.

While this wasn't the hand that actually took me out, I lost 90% of my stack here and it effectively ended the tourney for me. AIPF 99 vs 77, flop 977:

I managed to win my buy-in and a little more back in the cash game, but ended the night well in the red when the snacks and liquor are included. We killed a new 750 of Jagermeister and finished off three whiskey bottles that started the evening about 1/3 full. :ROFLMAO:

Everybody had a great time, which in the end is what matters, and I got to spend time with a friend who came in from out of state just for this game. So in spite of my early exit, it was a successful tourney.

My first time at a casino poker room. 1/2 NLHE in Blackhawk, CO.

Bought in for $200. Spun it up to $416 after less than 2 hours. Plus rivered 10s full of 6s for a $100 hourly High hand bonus. J10 was my lucky hand of the night (won three of them). Not bad for a first timer ;)

Playing tonight after a long session yesterday where I couldn't get anything going for hours. However, I managed to flop a set of 2 on an AQ2 board that turned into quads. My opponent made a big hand and doubled me up getting me unstuck + some profit.

Today the Horseshoe is giving away a bunch of prizes for the holidays. Sadly I only got 4 entries (flushes or better) for almost 40 hours of play as my quads hand was made after tickets were hands out. I figure I'd play anyways.

Game finally filled after 3 hours of 4 handed play where I had two uber nits who didn't adjust at all on my left and an Asian woman to my right. It was as good as it sounded.

Interestingly, or maybe not, all 6 prizes has been won by the 4-8 limit table. Such grinders... Honestly not thrilled they got the same type of entries as the NL players did as they see 20x more showdowns and even having a losing flush or better got a ticket.

Sounds like you need to get better at bonus-whoring :)

Played for the second time in a local raked 1/2NL game. Chips are bad but so are most of the players, yet I had a miserable times of it last night.

I was in the game for 900, and at my worst was -750 mostly thanks to a series of ridiculous coolers:
- AQ vs AK, A high dry board
- AK (3b) vs QQ (flat flat), KQx flop
- 88 vs JJ, A82 flop, turn J

I was finally able to turn things around a bit near the end of the night, and I clawed my way back to only a $400 loss. I don't know the opposite of upstuck, but if there's a word for feeling good about coming back from a big loss to cash out for a smaller one, that's how I felt.

I forgot to take a picture of my final stack. In for $100, out for $106 after 10.5 hours. My stack progression looked like the heart rate monitor of a dead man. Couldn’t ever get anything going, totally card dead, and couldn’t hit a flip to save my life. Good times with the St. Jos though!

Hey, that's 6% profit in 10.5 hours! Most money managers can't do 6% in ONE YEAR!
