Yep. But I believe these are the “superior diamonds” as you call them. Much softer, and less slippery than the cheap ones.

Got lucky against the table maniac, hit my duece on turn AND ace on river to double (all in on flop, he was hijack in $25 bomb pot, checked to him, he bets 200, I shove CO)

No different than shoving with a flush draw in Hold’em. Thankfully he didn’t share any of your cards. Having the Ace in your hand and with your short buying strategy it is an easy shove.

Looks similar to my game with a bunch of old, retired guys except they refuse to have ANY chips. It’s absolutely brutal waiting for everyone to count their money out. We could get in five times as many hands with chips, but they absolutely refuse to use them. I feel your pain.

What’s their rationale?
That they’ve played that way for over 40 years and they aren’t changing now. A couple of us gave up trying to get them to change a long time ago. Absolutely no budging by them on the chip issue. Thankfully, we were finally able to get them to use plastic cards. For quite some time, they even refused that idea. We’d go through a couple boxes of paper cards every game, and they finally bit off on plastic when we commandeered the papers. It’s quite the interesting group.

Getting unstuck. Limp AA92 one suit in LP, guy pots, bunch of callers, I repot to 580 with 250 behind, raiser repots with KKTT and two shorties go in
Flop a straight draw, turn nut flush draw but gives the guy set of kings, board pairs river
Rebuy for 1k, pickup AA97 one suit and repot UTG short stack, same guy repots with dble suited Kings, other guy all in with QQ32 and we hold
