Always nice to run good

Never thought I’d find myself harvesting house mold but MGM Grand seems to have just added on a shit load of new chips (not sure if it’s same chip design or not but it likely is) and they are incredible.

The red $5 is eye popping. Will share pics when I get back to my room later but anybody know the specific red they use?
I’m pretty sure it’s cherry, but maybe someone else with a Paulson color sample set could verify.
I doubt there’s many $25s and higher chips in good shape. They haven’t replaced that part of the rack in a long time.

Even having not been able to play for a couple of weeks (and finishing 4th the last time I did) I couldn't really be bothered to play tonight.

I told my colleague towards the end of the day that it would probably do me good to get out of the flat — and there's always the potential of winning money, which is just a nice bonus.

Well, I'm glad I did!

In for 1 x £20 bullet comprising a 50-man field and T30,000 starting stack, which I quickly ran up having gotten some nice bluffs through...

Dwindled to about 15BB and got into a stupid blind vs blind situation where I jammed on a flop of Q♣️10♣️ J♣️ with 10♠️8♣️. He flipped over K♣️2♣️. I stood up and said: "I'm dead."

Turn came 8♦️ and river 10♦️ to keep us sailing with a miraculous boat.

Stack was up and down all night, and then I lucked out on the final two tables when I was down to about 12BB. UTG raised about 3X, and I looked down at A♦️J♦️; I knew I was probably up against AK or AQ, but shoved in MP regardless. He snaps and flips over A♥️K♠️, as we head to a flop of 7♠️A♣️10♦️.

Followed by a turn of 3♦️. And, yep, you've guessed it, a 9♦️ on the river.

We are now down to about 15 players, and I have about 15BB again. I am in the BB and see three players shove before it gets round to me. I couldn't quite believe my luck when I looked down at A♣️A♠️, which improved to a set on the turn and saw me quadruple up.

This turned out to be a key hand and, even though I played a really strong final table, we just missed out on 1st after three hands of heads up.

Still, 2nd place and £440 (tipped the poker room £20 so £420 in reality) just goes to prove that, if you're ever on the fence about playing poker, then always play — just in case.

Got the cancuns on the new table. Awesome night. All the chips here got blasted to @PhilLaFond . My first rebuy got blasted to @Chippy McChiperson . My second rebuy and add on got blasted to @buffaloe That’s his nickname not his handle but if you know him you know him.

Managed to claw back a tiny fraction until @ChipFinderSK got me on the last river of the night ;)

Despite all this I never even got to battle with @krafticus which was my only regret tonight.

Despite some bad plays and unfortunate run outs the game was very juicy and had over $2,500 on the table which is pretty juicy for a .25/.50 game. Folks were playing with heart including some non-PCeffers who were new to PLO.

Can’t wait to do it again!
