How were the games there? Any 2/5s running? I've been thinking about taking a weekends trip down recently, but wasn't sure where things were at especially with the Ida.
The whole MS coast from Pass Christian to Biloxi faired really well. Groceries have been a little scare due to the influx of Louisiana folks the past couple of weeks. But I think that's helped bring in more people to the casinos. I live in the Pass and only my second time to the Beau Rivage- bit of a drive to get there.

I mostly play 4-8 limit so I'm not that great on NL games. I think the 1/3 NL plays well, here are some things I observed: There is no cap on the buy-in and a good amount of people play loose with marginal hands. Quite a bit of bluffing and people calling with middle pair. Lots of pre-flop raising but not much 3-betting. Last night it was either a 1-3 or 2-5 mixed game running- the stacks ranged from $200 to $6000. On the regular 1/3 NL tables, it looked pretty common for about half the table to have stacks around $800 or larger.

There was an interest list for 2-5 NL Holdem but it never got started while I was there (from 1900 to 2100). I think a lot of the mix-game people were on the list for 2-5 so the casino was waiting for more interest or the mix-game to break.

I played at the Beau for the first time Friday night before this past Labor Day. There were a lot more games running then with three 2-5 NL games running.

I hope that was descriptive enough- I only recently started going to casinos again and play about twice a month so I'm a little out of touch.

At least the chip colours are "standard" being in Europe they could have been anything  :ROFLMAO:
I thought you had standard colors in England, like Terry's Orange (which is actually brown), Jaguar Green and The Queen's Hat which I think is a shade of light blue.

After the birth of my second son in August, I finally found the time for a short live session at westspiel casinos in Aachen, Germany.

Since the pandemic hit, all they offer is €2/4 (roundabout $2/5 in USD) €1000 max buy-in. I'm very much underrolled for these stakes, but I see no other way to build a bankroll than actually playing, so here goes.

I'd love to buy in for the max, but that would mean me sitting down with pretty much my entire bankroll at the table. So the plan is to space it out on 100bb buyins until I'm more properly rolled.

Table does not look very promising - some nits and 2 pros. Gonna apply for a table change down the line if the two unknowns turn out to be competent players as well.

7 handed with dividers and mandatory masks - here we go.

In for €400

Really not a fan of the chips. 14g plastics all with the same drab blue edgespots in a €2/€10/€50 breakdown is all we got here.

Flopping top set two times in the first 45 min lets me chip up but only results in small pots.
Up to around €570

After that it's nit city and I don't find any good spots.
Picked the wrong spot to bluff the river:

After 3h of play, my winnings dwindled and I'm actually down around €200.
I keep topping up to €400 and am in the game for €650 by now.

I've been scouting the other tables between hands and fund one with mostly regulars as well but the mood seems to be good, lots of laughter makes for a better game I hope.
I ask for a table change and get my seat about 1h before I have to end my session. Gotta help my wife with diaper changes and feeding the baby again.

I've chipped up back to even by now (actually a €12 profit!) and take my seat at the new table with a stack of €662.

And I don't have to wait long before I get into a big pot when I see a cheap flop on the button multi way with Kc5c.
Flopping the nut flush draw on A7J.
I get there immediately on the turn, and get 2 streets of value for a pot of close to €800

A few small pots and about half an hour later I hit the cage and book a €430 profit. This adds another bullet to my tiny bankroll and gives me a lot more confidence that I might be able to build the roll without going broke every other session.

Good night everyone and thanks for following along.

One of the most comprehensive session breakdowns, good job

But for real, what the f*ck are those racks?!

At least the chip colours are "standard" being in Europe they could have been anything  :ROFLMAO:
I visited several casinos in London, colors were pretty standard: 25p grey, 50p yellow, £1 blue, £5 red, £25 black, £100 pink.
I did not use greater denominations

Last month I was in Dortmund for a few days, I visited Duisburg and Hohensyburg (Dortmund) casinos.
Chips are the same as in Aachen
I found 1x Duisburg 2 euro chip in a barrel at Hohensyburg

Yeah all part of the same government approved casino chain. The German state protects it's monopoly on gambling and it's more than annoying to not have any variety through competition.

They are octagon racks. They work and stack perfectly well, and fit 43mm chips. Not sure why they are only 3-barrel lengths, though.
Just looks like it in my crappy picture. They do have 5 rows. The discoloration is a deal breaker for me though. And I got one of the nicer racks they had stacked up at the cage...
