Chips were definitely gross!

But what was even worse is that they are a pain in the ass to get. No cage in the poker room. Have to make initial buy-in at least from the main cage out on the casino floor. Playing $5/5 PLO with a $1k max buy-in, so someone is needing chips almost every hand. Rebuys can be done at the table from the tray, but the dealer only has $1500 in chips in the tray!

Floor was being called every other hand for chips, slowing the game down in a time charged game, annoying.

That's just unbelievably dumb. I assume either no one is smart enough to bring extra chips to reload with, or the casino doesn't even allow you to do so.

The main table that was full of regs all have chips they carry with them. But the feeder table had a lot more players with cash. I bought extra chips than my initial buy-in when I bought at the cage.

Unbelievably dumb - but if they ever get new chips, harvesting would be a dream.

"I need $1000 in 1s. I'll just put them in my backpack so I don't need to keep walking back to reload" :whistling: "Do you pitch a game with $2 chips?" :ninja:

How’d you make out?
+120.
3rd hand, I raise the straddle on the button to $17 with KQo. 2 callers. Flop comes KQQ. Checks around. turn, 3c, and checks to me and I bet $20. BB check-raises me to $70, and I flat. river 8h. He checks, and I rip it all in for about $220. he thinks for a good minute, and folds.

Flopped top 2 with A5dd on a 2club board with A53. I bet, he calls. Turn is a 3rd club. he checks, I bet $50. He calls. river is a 5. he checks, I bet $120. He asks if I have A5. He finally calls.

They change the deck, and get coolered on the next 2 when bad player hits a gutter on the river (A9dd vs KJ on a A5Qdd board) Turn 6s, river 10c Then I raise QQ and 3 callers. board is 8810 2 diamonds. Checks to me, and I bet. I get check-raised by the big stack and call. turn is a 3 and he leads big. I fold.

won a few, lost a few from there..

worth noting, 3 more times I flop a NFD, and 3 times, the turn, and river pair the board with a river shove

Little tourney at Resorts World.

I like the chips a lot, the room is nice and their tourney has a nice structure. I busted right before the money but I’ll come back.
If you go back anytime soon, could you ask if tournament play counts as hours played for getting the hotel room at the Poker rate? I'd hate to skip a tournament because I gotta "grind" out 6 hours a day in cash games.

Not positive about Resorts World but as a general rule 6 hours of tournament play does not equal 6 hours of cash play in comps. Reduced room rates or comps are based on estimated rake.

The direct line to RW poker room is: (833) 930-3888. Good luck MJ.

Two day getaway with @SeekTheGrail

Jeff Foxworthy comped show tonight.

Random fun memory (@Ben8257 will appreciate this story, he was a DJ). Before matriculating into med school I owned and operated a wedding entertainment company and was out DJing every weekend. I was at a wedding setting up for the ceremony and the guitarist leans over to me and goes “did you see who’s on the front row?” Lo and behold, it was Jeff Foxworthy! He was the brides uncle I believe.

I’d emceed a lot of weddings at this point, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous doing grand entrances with him in the audience. Luckily he was SUCH a nice guy - when I introduced myself and welcomed everyone he yelled “WOO, YEAH JORDAN!” During cocktail hour I went out to say hey and snap a pic and he said “It’s not many weekends I get a night off, so I’m sure glad you’re working tonight!”
