So it Begins... (11 Viewers)

I used to feel to exact same way about all nagbs.
I don’t know how much you want to discuss it. But you’ve got cash chips up to $25,000 with presumably zero security features. Since security features are a huge part of GPI’s marketing strategy, I’d have to think they tried to sell you a few. I’d be curious to hear their replies when you chose none. Seems extremely smelly to me.

This is probably going to get answered in the next few pages, but I'll ask anyway.

Since details are starting to leak out, it sounds like you are saying here that your initial sale is not going to allow for mixing of primary and secondary in one set. Correct? And that you are selling in predetermined sets?
correct. There will be three tournament sets available for sale. There will be four primary cash sets available for sale. Also identical four sets for secondary cash set.

When you buy a set, you get a 'Tiger Ticket'... the ticket allows you to add certain number of racks to your purchase as add-ons. for tournament sets, you get to add 2-4 racks of additional tournament chips...this includes the NCV, T1, T5, etc. (with some limitations of course). This will allow some to make their hot stamp set flexible for both tournament and cash games.

When you buy a cash set (primary or secondary), you will also get a 'Tiger Ticket'. This ticket allows you to add up to two racks of additional chips to your order, from wither the NCV Bear Claw collection or you can buy additional racks of $1s or $5s.

Tournament set prices and details of next week's sale will be up in the next hour...

If either person could have designed their ideal custom set, would it really have been any of these three sets?

Yes!

I mean, why not? Each one of them is amazing. Anyone who's tried to come up with an "ideal" custom set using the CPC design tool, for example, can attest to the fact that it's not easy. These sets are stunning, and I'm thankful that Jeep was the designer...I certainly couldn't design anything better, if I set out to design my "ideal custom set".

Pretty much what Mel said.

Come on.
Nobody was sniffing.
You don’t need to be a bloodhound to smell these from the next county.
I’m not privy to any details but there’s no way GPI thought these were being made for an actual casino.
Incorrect.

I used to feel to exact same way about all nagbs.
I’m just gonna say it. If GPI saw these proofs and didn’t realize this was an NAGB then I have no words. Like how can you say, “yep boss this casino needs 4 sets. One’s normal Cali colors, ones a hotstamped tourney, ones NCV, and the other is just normal Vegas colors. Oh and did I mention they’re asking for us to bring back some spot patterns and colors?” Their boss must’ve been literally living beneath a rock.

@doublebooyah85
“Typical a few people get together confidentially to pull off a Paulson direct buy. So as a joke, it’s Not A Group Buy.”

It’s actually less of a joke and more a part of pcf history. When the first ones happened, many PCFers wanted to know why they didn’t get a chance to jump in on the group buy. And the response was “it was not a group buy.”

Correct. And also keep in mind in the original NAGB there were multiple buyers, not just one or two people but more like 30+ and they had a dedicated area on the forum to discuss the details (iirc). At least to everyone not getting in it was so clearly a GROUP buy, and wording it differently was just laughable to 80%+ of the forum.

I'll take late run BCC's over just about anything else. They corrected both the printing, inlays, and weight issues. My last order direct from Mike Endy was unrivaled in every aspect....feel, sound, weight, inlay blah blah blah etc. They made my earlier run of CDI's look like trash...which frankly they were imo in comparison. Also nothing I've handled yet comes close to the T-mold; unfortunately.
Agreed. BCC made some great chips. Would it even be possible (given enough money) to buy back the BCC molds and rights from GPI and bring them back to life?

Edit: Sorry, this probably belongs in another thread.

Ok, I gotta ask. What does NAGB stand for? Something group buy? Thanks!

Not A Group Buy

Someone needs to sticky a FAQ about all the more recent 'GPI' NAGBs, post Star/boat chip sales... I am willing to sticky it to one of my threads if anyone can compile a complete list (or maybe we can ask a Mod to put it somewhere else in the forum)...but a valuable source for newbies and everyone else too... I know I have revisited the thread about the BTP chips more than once or twice even years after they were unveiled. Not sure if there is one about the SB chips, for example.

probably next week...I just have a ton of work to do to even get ready for the hot tamp sales... but we'll see...
Hotstamp sale looks great. Understand its a lot of work. Appreciate the way you are running this! Next week as in tomorrow or the week after? I hope we get pricing for the cash sets before this first round of sales go live to know all or our options.

time for the real shots @JeepologyOffroad , put the chips on the wood table, you know the one I'm talking about . You will sell the F out of them
I think MOST of us are wanting him to present them in a way that will DISCOURAGE everyone else from wanting them...

@JeepologyOffroad Can you please work on a few UGLY photo shoots?

I asked Tommy and it's being done...

You’ll never be able to satisfy everybody but thanks for doing your best to make it fair and, as crazy as it sounds, affordable for people who want them.

I’m probably not a buyer (I’m getting dangerously addicted to dreaming about watches) but if I was I would feel very good about everything tiger and the way you have went about everything. Good luck, I hope it’s a major success for vendor/designer/and buyers.
