3 of a Kind
Went to Red Rock this Saturday to harvest some more 1's that I need to complete a tourney set I'm putting together. The poker room was packed. I put myself on the list for 1/2 limit and was 13th. While waiting at an empty table I seen a player about to cash in two racks of 1's. I stood behind him and when he cashed out I told the poker room cashier I was about to be called for a limit table and asked if I could get $200. He said sure, so I gave him $200 and he gave me the two racks where I sat at an empty table and sorted through them picking out (25) really good 1's. I then cashed the remaining chips in and when they called my name for the limit game I bought two more racks of 1's and sorted through those while playing. All in all, I was able to harvest (43) really good 1's. No one paid me any mind, everyone could care less about what I was doing as I sorted through the chips. It was a good harvest in my book as I'm still learning the tricks of harvesting.
Next I went to Circus Circus to harvest some 1's. All thanks to @allforcharity who told me to go to CC next time, which prompted me to look at their $1 chips. They automatically became my new favorite chip and a must have for my tourney set Lol. I needed 4 racks and I knew going in that I would not be able to get that many during this harvesting session but 400 was the magic number Lol. I bought $100 in 5's at the craps table and lost $10. I then went to the cash cage to try and buy some chips. No one was there, I was helped by a very nice female cashier. I told her I'd tip her $5 if I could get (90) one dollar chips. She said sure let me just check with my supervisor first and walked away. She returned with her supervisor another female and her supervisor explained to me they usually don't sell chips and especially because they just got brand new chips. She walked away and returned with a brand new rack of chips. I was absolutely SHOCKED! Although I went to the cage to get chips I NEVER thought I'd actually get them, it was just a shot in the dark for me and WOW, she gave me (90) chips, I gave her $10 more dollars for the full rack and also tipped her supervisor $5. So I started my session at CC off with a brand new rack of 1's!
After that I hit the Big Wheel three times throughout the evening for (25) chips each time. I walked around the table games and when I seen that a table was empty I'd walk up and ask for five 1's. If they were friendly I'd just smile, thank them and walk away. If they looked annoyed, I sat down played dumb and asked them how to play the game. I'd play a couple hands and leave. They didn't seem annoyed after that. Throughout my harvesting session I was just a small loser with that strategy. While waiting for a spot at the craps table I seen a young female who had about (20) 1's. I tapped her when she wasn't busy and offered her $20 for (17) 1's which she quickly obliged. At the end of the evening I had amassed (267) CC 1's with the above strategies.
I think because I was playing all the games I never really raised any attention to myself.
The next morning after check out I repeated the same things as the night prior and got (44) more 1's, which brought my total to (311) @guyfleegman. I tried the cash cage a couple times again each time I was informed that they don't sell chips. The last time I tried I asked for a $1 chip as a souvenir and the cashier told me to wait while he checked with his supervisor. He came back and sold me 1. The cash cage is a one in a million shot IMO. I tried and will continue to try but it really just depends on who you get.
So these CC 1's are Brand New! Every chip I harvested has super sharp edges and that chalky feel, absolutely MINT. The worst chips in the whole casino are in Near Mint condition. CC doesn't have a poker room, so the chips don't get much abuse. Well here is my harvest. I'm really happy since this was only my third harvesting session.
