I get it, but I don’t get it. Half a billion is generational wealth, you’ve made it.

I guess $700 million gives you room to make additional poor investment decisions compared to $500 million, but it shouldn’t greatly impact life or lifestyle.

I know this isn’t real world applicable, but it isn’t until the first person does it. I’d say, I’m worth more. Looking for 600 million or whatever. You pay me 500 mill, give 100 mill to causes I choose that will help your taxes, and another 100 mill to my charitable startup.

I’m not one of those “aThLeTeS MaKe ToO mUcH” people, if anything usually they should be paid more compared to what ownership makes.

We’re just approaching some rather insane team valuations as well as salaries. Waiting for when ANY of that money starts shifting downwards. Maybe to the minimum wage paid event crews/concessions/etc.
 
I would be surprised if NYY didn’t get a commitment from him before the trade. He’s probably willing to do it to try to win a ring versus a dead end season in KC.

BTW, the NYY club are control freaks. They don’t allow goatees and even mustaches need to meet very specific requirements.

(I’m saying this as a life long NYY fan - love the Bombers)

He already has a ring. I hope NYY has the best record in baseball, and gets ousted in the divisional round in 4 games , 2 from blown Chapman saves
