Hi all,
We just passed the 2 year mark from the last time @OldWestPokerSupplies sold the Suited Seating Sets (http://www.pokerchipforum.com/threa...ament-table-seating-sets-w-bounties-dbs.3393/) and for 2 years I’ve been sad at missing the group buy, so I emailed Sal about what it would take for them to be made again and here’s the deal:

He needs to sell a minimum of 25 of EACH SUIT in order for it to fly, but he is very busy right now with other orders, like the Horseshoe buttons, etc.
So I offered to run this poll to see what the interest level might be since we have many new members who missed out on this great offer 2 years ago and other members like myself that wished they hadn’t missed it in the first place.

The sets would cost $20 per suit/table: which includes 10 seating chips, a dealer button and a plaque table marker. You can add a black velvet storage bag for $5 extra.

I have made a poll that allows you to select each suit individually and you may choose 1,2,3 or all 4 sets.

If we can get to the required 100 sets, we should be able to persuade Sal to make another run hopefully later this year. Please note that while your vote does not require you to buy, PLEASE only vote if you are 99.99% ready to pay

I want to be clear that this would be a “Group Buy” in the sense that we would be buying directly from OWPS, similar (but not identical) to how he is currently running the Horseshoe and Bahamia dealer button offers, and @Tommy approved this post in the Group Buy thread as a way to gauge interest only.

Let’s try to get this off the ground again!

Reserved, just in case...ok I'm going to use this as a tracking method for multiple sets and totals, it may look ugly at first but I'll work on it as we go.

Spade Sets: 39

Heart Sets: 34

Diamond Sets: 30

Club Sets: 31

Notes: @justsomedude and I are in for 2 full sets, @atomiktoaster possibly in for diamond/clubs no vote yet but counted

Sal has done great work over the years and made a ton of awesome things, including a few different seating button sets, but imo this set you are taking about is the best. They are my favorite seating set ever and can double as bounty tokens, plus the quality is off the charts. Get in on this, they are awesome!

I already have mine, but I get asked about my set all the time. Let me ask around, but I could probably bring 4-5 buyers to this GB.

Since I won't be there tomorrow night, you should mention it to the fellas, @nitzilla !
I know there probably would be a few players from the Thursday night league, that would be interested in these.

Voted and ready to pay for all 4!!

Thanks for putting this together... Really hoping it happens, especially after the CPC seating chip GB died a slow, painful death earlier this year.

Anyway for me to skip the dealer button & plaque!?

I think this is a "buy the set or nothing" type of a deal. They need the numbers to make the GB work for everyone. Splitting up orders/sets will just make OWPS not want to get involved. Just my $0.02.

Actually, the problem is selling enough seating chips, not the DBs or plaques.

DBs and plaques are large and produced in small batches, so the order minimums are low.

Regular sized ceramic chips, however, are made in sheets with lots of pieces. You get a 25 piece minimum per design for the price to work. And each seating chip in the set is a different design, so selling two sets of ten isn't an order of 20... It's 10 orders of two pieces.

I don't see the need for both the plaque and the DB. I think if it was one it would keep costs down and probably get more people involved. One will clearly mark the table, not sure if that's sal's requirement or your wish list.

Not meant to be a thread crap more of a discussion.

If we can get more people on board by allowing for separate buttons and plaques, then perhaps it should be considered. I mean, how many people have more than 1 tourney table vs those that have only a single table. Im in the single table camp.

I love this idea BTW. Thanks for digging it up. I wasnt aware of the previous seating chips.

Also how do you handle rebuys and the need for more bounty chips?

I wouldn't use these as a rebuy chip, I would use them only to assign seats. Once everyone was seated, the chips go back in the bag.

I was thinking about contacting Sal myself if my recent Wanted add turned up nothing. I was very lucky to get one from the wonderful Chris from Gear Labels. If that were not the case, I'd get another set of all the things. If Chris wants, I'll buy him another set when these are finished.

Agreed, I just wonder what actual cost savings is achieved by eliminating table plaques for single set orders.

Granted, I'm assuming those getting multiple sets actually want the plaques (to differentiate tables). But if you have 15 guys with 3 sets on their order (45 plaques), what is the actual cost savings for the 8 guys who only order one set, vs. the potential headache it creates for OWPS by having unmatched totals during manufacture?

I would assume making plaques to match the total sets ordered might be the more cost effective approach. But I don't know... Maybe it's not that way at all. Just throwing it out there.

Last tourney I was at, anyone who rebuys does not surrender their bounty. Until they're out of the tourney for good, the bounty was live.

Alternatively, you can just play that a person who rebuys no longer has a bounty.

Yeah @slisk250, I had the email from Sal for a few days, then I saw your ad yesterday and thought, damn missed one order! ;)
I'm glad @Gear hooked you up though, maybe he needs another set....? ;)

Yes, you can order just the seating chips.
You can order single tables as well but just remember that we have to meet 25 purchases of the chips for each table to meet the minimums. So that would be 25 full sets. It's not an easy prospect.

I also do hope we can do this even though I'm not looking forward to all the work it takes, lol.

These are ceramics right? How will the do over time if they are in a bag, being shook around, with all the abrasion from rubbing up against each other. Do you think the art will get chipped away over time?

For the record I only have 2 tables, but am buying all 4 suits to have the "complete set" Seriously, once you see them in person, they are stunning and it's worth the extra $40 just to have all of them!
But it's great to see we're basically half way there in less than 12 hours since the post!

Since I have Hearts and Spades, I'd probably pick up diamonds and/or clubs if it helps out.
