Joined this forum because I intend to build my own poker table and the resources here seem invaluable. Actually, a chain of events starting with PplPoker's youtube led me here. Just wanted to say you guys have some really awesome setups.

Well I ended up watching them all but started with the complete Husker table build.

Silly question - Is there a “correct” direction for these trays to face? I’ve seen them in both directions, angling toward AND away from the dealer position. Is one of them standard or is it just personal preference?

I've only seen them in casinos with the chips angled toward the dealer. Anything else makes little sense.

Working on the drawer made out of mahogany as an add on for an existing customer. The color will really pop once I add the clear coat.

Oh, and here's his table. It has temporary box legs since I'm still working on the Cocobolo boomerang legs.

And the finished drawer. Mahogany with a Cocobolo face to match the boomerang. I also made a front face in Mahogany too in case he wants it to match the topper instead of the legs.

Is that a foam/topper insert, or is it just cloth/gaming felt? Does it go under the rail or just line up touching the rail?

It’s a pretty heavy duty multi-spandex fabric rubber surface with a very slick top surface. The topper is an off the shelf item from Triton. I designed the rail so the topper tucked under the rail a little all the way around.

Is there a name for this piece? You know... if someone suddenly wanted to upgrade their table to have something added to it on a custom build, what would it be called?

Typically called the skirt whenever I've seen it.

Yes, that's the apron aka skirting. It's also included in every dining table cover we sell. Including one for an octagon table in our queue
