Wow! The red storm stadium backdrop really makes that awesome table pop even more. Very impressive.

Lots of very nice poker tables in this thread! Here's a picture of my first (and so far only) home made table. Not nearly as fancy as many others. But to my defence it was built on a tight budget back in 2005. It's built from a standard dining room table and has had different legs during the years and also been used as a table top. Right now it's placed on a couple of bucks (english?) from Ikea. Actually very stable. The rail is laying loose on the table and the plastic cup holders have a clip that slides under the rail.

The table has served me well and seen a fair share of home games but since I do not have a dedicated poker room this table is about to be replaced by a table top in the near future.

So the dedicated poker table is being replaced by this new foldable table top. Really happy to find such a large table top (61"/155 cm outer diameter) which makes a perfect fit for the round dining table.

Obvious downside is the joint and the shallow cup holders. The felt is thick but has a strange feel to it which I don't like. Next step will be a custom neoprene poker mat (just to place on top) that will take care of both the feel and the joint.

Best solution would be a decently thick neoprene mat and a custom wooden rail (probably in two pieces) for the dining table, to prevent cards from sliding off.

I found my tribe! But this is going to cost me. Now I need a new home with a game room, and a table or three to go in it! Awesome photos and GREAT ideas. I'm looking forward to being able to post photos in here someday myself.

After viewing this thread and looking at some excellent builds, I’m curious…
What is the preferred table design as it relates to chips; i.e. flat padding to the rail (where players just stack their chips in front), a recessed box area, or molded/carved chip holders in the rail area?

I’d be interested in the feedback on what people prefer.
