Those look amazing. Did you use a forstner bit and drill press to make those trays? Cnc for the top lettering?

I wish I could take credit for these lol, but they are being made by Big Slik Poker Tables. I do know the top was done by CNC router

I was impressed by your insane woodworking abilities until I saw this post. Just the same, these are looking amazing.

Probably the wrong meme to use here, unless you want your beautiful chip boxes to explode in a hail of laser fire.

I've been wondering that, myself... but I think a big round-nose router bit is more likely. You can do 20-chip trays with a forstner and then cut the block in half, but these are so long that i can't imagine the bit running straight all the way. And imagine how tall the press opening has to be to fit that whole slab of wood PLUS the very long bit!

Beautiful stuff, Mr. Tree. Beautiful stuff. And I deeply appreciate people like you paying craftsmen who still make beautiful stuff.

Yeah I was thinking about that too after seeing how wide those trays are.

Slik does good work! The wood has a cool reclaimed farmhouse look. Perfect for the hitching post theme.

Mr. Tree, any idea what kind of wood that is?

If I remember correctly he actually reclaimed wood from an old building that was being demolished

Love the hardware choices; the handles are great, and so is the key/hole, but even the choice of hinges! Great functionality inside, theme-appropriate look outside!

Beautiful wood, beautiful workmanship, beautifully matched to your theme...

Congratulations on the latest addition to the Hitching Post.

Love the case and outstanding craftsmanship, but need pictures of chips in case

Outstanding. I am going to assume they have been shipped in a such a way to guarantee being displayed next week yeah? ;)

That's the plan. I put the deadline on it to have for next week. They went out today from Maine so if there aren't any issues they should be here with time to spare

My guess on the wood is maple or ash, heavily spalted. Very cool results.
