I’ve learned to never skip the posted songs. This was awesome. I recognized it from don’t be a menace, but I’ve never heard the whole song.1996 one of the greatest years of hiphop
Fugees - the score
Outkast- ATLiens
Jayz - reasonable doubt
Nas - it was written
Tupac - all eyes
Who remembers this

How can you not love an entire line dedicated to explaining what a lawyer is:
She wants to be a lawyer
In other words shorty studies law
Sorry, but there are much more musical underground songs around the world:
"I grew up in the port, a bum and a punk;
You 'd better ask before you attempt to marry me.
All thugs respect me, and people are eager to share their feelings with me
'cause I 'm smart and I can play music.
In the underworld everybody admires me
'cause I 've always been honest"

I definitely don’t think you’re in the minority. Chipping and Hip Hop aren’t exactly touching in most Venn diagrams.
I’m not super well versed in any actual hip hop knowledge, especially older.I wanna play.
Dana Dane was just one of those fun hip hop groups way back in the days, like The Fat Boys, goofy. Digital Underground always gave me those vibes as well. I really gave up on hip hop in the early 90s after I started playing guitar so my knowledge is limited as well, I just have my favorites. There were a series of old school cassette tapes me and my buddy used to buy back in the day. I'm in the process of recollecting the series on CD which I never knew they had. A lot of out introduction to these bands/groups was through these compilation cassettes.I’m not super well versed in any actual hip hop knowledge, especially older.
I don’t have a clue who Dana Dane is, but I loved that. He sounds eerily exactly like Slick Rick, thought that may just be that era and location.
