Did the squished chips come that way? Or did that happen over time? Having me rethink my CPC storage habits...If you somehow don’t know, I collect custom samples. It’s an easy life, I just hunt and buy and try and to display them in a way they deserve.
Shout to all the creators, and all the time and effort after creation of packing up all these individual packs and shipping so well and dealing with all of us who want a piece of their hard work and creation.
I’ll be sending out personal thank yous to a bunch of folks, but a special shout-out to @Rieguy and @wonderpuddle for always being on the look out and hooking me up. @JeepologyOffroad and @megarises for bringing samples in person. A lot more folks as well, thank yous should be sending out soon.
Time to get some more display cases up on the walls.

Love yours too!Did the squished chips come that way? Or did that happen over time? Having me rethink my CPC storage habits...
I figured that might be the case. I'll continue as I do for now.Love yours too!
These are all as received, all of these being within the last May/June/July (I like to open en masse or store them together until they go up).
But also please keep in mind that many CPC custom owners also go through their set and will pull chips with defects for samples as often times those won’t show once displayed. So this view is probably not the representation of CPC, but also doesn’t have anything to do with storage.
That’s kinda the build up of these lol.I figured that might be the case. I'll continue as I do for now.
I'm glad I could get you the extras missing from the Beach, even during your...vacation...from the site
Desperately questioning when my wife's next bachelorette party weekend is coming so the house is free...I think she starting to suspect something. That’s kinda the build up of these lol.
The imaginary, vacation ban and the meetup and wsop and wife out of country work trip and kids school starting - just now getting things settled.
@Jeff and @k9dr do a fantastic job documenting their collection, I’m going to try and update mine to something similar making it easy to track and see people’s handiwork.
I’m still looking forward to mini Meetup at The Beach 202tbd!
They're not squished. That's a mark from the roller from chip finishing and is only visible here in the strong lighting from directly above.Did the squished chips come that way? Or did that happen over time? Having me rethink my CPC storage habits...
I call it a squish vs a roadbump because of the concave nature of the rolling edge, as opposed to the convex nature of the roadbump from the finishing wheel not getting through enough material. I've seen it all, was just curious if it was a heat related issue. They're not squished. That's a mark from the roller from chip finishing and is only visible here in the strong lighting from directly above.
I have 15k ASM and CPC chips and you can see this in a lot of them in lighting like this. It's not a storage thing.
[EDIT] - if the chips were "squished", they would bulge out from the middle and not mushroom out from the top and bottom. I know because I f'ed up a couple sacrificial chips once applying heat and pressure in compression.
Glad you finally get those in your hands buddy!Big, big, big, thanks to @David O !!!
With these bourbon as a replacement of the ones lost during transfer to Europe a couple months ago I have now finished a mixed Hotstamp set started two years ago View attachment 1171934
