bring to my house for the next gameI do not think I'm exaggerating if I refer to this as a semi-grail set.
This was advertised on eBay as a used Paulson top hat and cane set, gold foil hot stamped with "LOM" on one side and 25c, 50c, $1.00, $5.00, and $10.00 on the other side. But I was intrigued by the possibility that they weren't Paulsons.
Received them yesterday. All LCV. Crisp, shiny hats. Vintage style script font for initials and same for denom. I am now looking at the first playable cash set of C&J chips that I have ever seen.
Overall chips in excellent condition. Occasional flea bites. Most wear on the $1.00 compared to the rest. Non-standard colour scheme.
Not a bad breakdown, either, even wonky 50c and $10.00. 951 chips, total bank $2442, good for most 0.25/0.50 or 0.50/1 that I would play.
I am happy as a collector. After ultrasonic clean and oiling they should be fantastic.

Cool set! FWIW, I can only remember seeing one other C&J playable set (though I certainly haven't been looking.) There was a red, white and blue playable set. I always remember that one because the seller said that set was rumored to have belonged to JFK.I am now looking at the first playable cash set of C&J chips that I have ever seen.
Definitely C&J.I do not think I'm exaggerating if I refer to this as a semi-grail set.

No there weren’t. I’m 90% sure they were hot stamped with cash denominations on both sides. I don’t think anybody gave any real consideration to the JFK rumor.Do you recall if there were actual JFK initials on them?
It's crawfish season!
And now it's completeShout out @pocketJs for these nice $20s
