My wife (who gets emails for all Amazon purchases): Did you just buy a food scale!?!

Me: Yes

Her: Why? You don’t cook!

Me: so I can weigh chips.

Her: that is more dumb than when you bought sand paper for your chips.

Me: well, now I can tell you with certainty that a CDM 20 weighs 9 grams and is not leaded.

Her: stop talking to me…….

Thanks to Oscar @Okku from @Spinettis Gaming for hooking me up with the Last Rodeo Hotel & Casino.

The Cash Lineup includes 25C, $1, $5, $25, $100. Also below there is a $20 Poker Room Chip and I was extremely happy to get the $8 Chinese New Years Chip which is the year of the Bull/Ox Chip.

Below is a closeup of the $20 Poker Room chip. On the left is an earlier $20 Chip and on the right is the current $20 Chip.

Wait. CDMs aren’t leaded??

weighs 9 grams and is not leaded.
Weight is not the end all determining factor for leaded. Sure you can find out if a chip is leaded if the weight is stupid high, but just because something is under 10g doesn’t mean it’s not leaded. I’ve weighed plenty of very old shaped inlay chips that are under 10g. For example, day green is almost always super light.

That’s true for some of the lighter weighted colors like some of the light green, some reds and some blues, but isn’t black one of the heavier weights when leaded?

Usually white and pinks the heavy weights iirc, but I’ve also owned some heavy day greens so color:weight isn’t determining factor either. I’d wager there were many formula changes throughout the years and different batches. Also the cdm is charcoal.

I can put you in direct contact with my wife. She is not interested in hearing any more from me on this topic.

This could be a chip conversation with my wife. To be fair she does not like it but does tolerate my sickness.

I agree with @JeepologyOffroad, I actually think I can tell from the sound they make (somewhat), I have some leaded chips that are 9+ grams, never below 9 though, maybe that's the cutoff?
Can we normalize these tests?

@jpietrella, do you have cdm 20? ;)

I don't think I do but I do have what was a CDM 50,000. I imagine they'd be made with a similar formula? I can swab one of those if it would help.

What are those huge round labels for? Buttons?
Edit- replied to wrong message. These are for Apache cases.

Yep, circular for the sides x3, and 1 rectangular for the top. Have an apache for the Tiger set, and one for my personal relabel.

Rectangular to go here on center top of case:

Case labels are a great idea! Do your chips live in the apaches full time?

Not sure yet, received feedback that the foam compresses a lot and will be ‘perma’ compressed if you leave chips in beyond travel etc. Think I’ll keep my personal set in and judge it. Can always change the foam etc. Also have a large tool chest with drawers as a home.
